Give me a list of plants I wont kill please! I am NOT a gardener, but I am trying to make our yard look nicer. We have a few rose bushes already, the neighbor gave me some yucca plants(adams needle), Dustin got some juniper bushes, my mom has pampas grass growing like crazy at her house so I am getting some of it, and I got a few hostas on sale last night. I prefer perinnials because I know if I have to buy them year after year I wont stick to it. I love tulips and things like that, but I don't know much about growing them.

I would like some stuff that stays green year round like the yuccas do, to help give the yard some "pop" during the fall.

Educate me!

Well I like Irises with roses. They are perennials and they naturalize quite well and form big clumps you can later share. For fall color I like a shrub form of Nandina that getts reddish leaves in the fall. VERY low maintenance.

Some forms of Taro (Elephants ears) do well and some have variegated leaves like the ones I have that are green with a reddish pink mix. Coleus is good for fall color too.
