Not sure what my mare did (of course) but her knee is swollen, not hard but very squishy. had two vets look at it. couple days ago my vet was here to check on another injury this mare had and he ultra sounded the knee and found some fluid in the knee and suggested she probably hit it on something but wasn't too worried, he cleared me to start riding her again. (been out since april due to other injury) so I took her on a trail ride. now she is lame and the knee is still swollen.. any ideas? what I should do? I have been poulticing it and putting thermaflex on it. Gonna have some X-rays done for sure but he said he really did not think there was any chips or fractures.

X-ray for sure

Cold hosing

Game ready if you can

I would keep applying cold as cold is good for acute injuries heat is for chronic
