| Hey guys, I have a friend that is working in the oil field and is looking into getting a travel trailer.. Anyone have an opinion on which brand to get or not to get? Also, do you know where maybe there's a used website or of a place in South Texas- DFW area? Thanks! |

| Rvtrader.com has alot of new and used rv's listed all over Texas. Don't forget Craigslist. My family has only been rv'ing a year but with all the research we have done the line to STAY AWAY from is the Forrest River lines. I don't have personal experience with that brand but have read many of bad things about them. Personally we like the KZ models and the Jayco models. We just sold our Jayco to upgrade to a KZ. We loved our Jayco. |

Location: lone star state | My husband works in oil as well. We have a cedar creek and love it! Make sure you get tank heaters, 2 a/c units and an all season. Better go with older better made than new cheap made in our opinion. We purchased ours from budget rv on i30 in rockwall and got great service and deal. Great people to deal with. Tell them what you are using it for and they will give helpful advice. |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | I know of a ford/rv fairly cheap only needs minor work as it had been sitting. Near new on the inside for around $1500. I'm not sure of what they really call it is a driver with the camper attached. located in Michigan |

| Aluminum frame over wood, just got rid of one that we used for the summer only to find the whole corner was rooted out along with the top of the roof had rotten boards in it also. Inside was great but you can only imagine keeping the walls together when you are moving it down the highway and the tin is attached to rotten wood...

Location: South of Canada and North of Mexico | First off as someone said, better to buy a well made used over a cheap new one. You want a heated and enclosed underbelly, make sure it has a "polar package" they will have a sticker most times by entrance door, 2 ac's, 50 amp, washer dryer hookups are wonderful. At first when I saw travel trailers I think bumper pull but a 5th wheel will pull better and give more storage. A GREAT place to look is www.pplmotorhomes.com it's main place is in Houston. Good brands are Newmar, Carri-Lite, Carriage, Holiday Rambler, Alfa, Excel, DRV (Select/Mobile/Elite Suites). Keystone makes a Montana which are generally a great trailer, we own a Forest River which has held up great but is not a 4 season. It really depends on the budget but EVERY brand will have issues or problems. Another good one to check out are Sanibels and Open Range. Pm if ya need anything been doing this pipeline thing for 10 years with the hubby and know quite a bit about rvs.

Location: South of Canada and North of Mexico | If he wants new check out Rv Wholesalers. Great prices can pick on from their stick or order what you want. I know a girl that has a VERY NICE 2006 Teton Scottsdale bunkhouse for 45k. They ordered a new DRV Elite Suites and would look at offers. Te tons were the cream of the crop but are no longer in business. |
