One of the arenas that we run in up here, has a very dusty warmup pen. And i mean by the end of the show the trucks/trailers that are parked in and around there have such a dust covering that you almost have to sweep it off to see to drive. It is the only place to warm up before your run. The main arena attaches to a small arena that when running only 5 at a time that are in that draw are allowed in. (those 2 pens are watered down)
I know how bad the dust is for us humans but am wondering what i could give my older horse so it will be a little better for his lungs. Was thinking giving him air-power or something before. Anyone have any suggestion?
Thank you!!

Unfortunately unless you are you standing down by the main arena you get covered... last show my truck which was parked pretty far away got covered. And it really is the only place to warm up before you run

Have you got a bunch of girls together and gone to the office and politely asked that they water the warm up pen? You might be surprised how quickly you can accomplish something if you ask nicely.

I agree get a few of the ladys to go with you and go talk to who ever is running the show and ask them if they would please water the warm up, I have and they started to keep it watered, they had been so busy and didnt know how bad the warm up had gotton.

I've left conditions such as those. My horses health is more important than a run. If you can see the dust then its very problematic for you and the horse.
