I just read the headlines Posts: 4483	At her clinic they put a bare tree on a horse and had it placed behind the shoulder, that is why I thought they were placed behind the shoulder.

I think saddles with those can sit behind the shoulder

Texas Lone Star Posts: 5318 Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked	Don't know about DJ saddle, but I was taught to snug the cinch just enough to keep the saddle from rolling and jip (trot) your horse a few times in a circle around you and then where the saddle sits after- that's where the sweet spot is. Cinch up and ride. My Martin Ironhorse with the adjustable cinch plate sat just behind the shoulders.

Location: In my own little world	I set my Pozzi's behind the shoulder and when I bought my 1st one I had a tree fit to him so I could get the best tree for him. I have a couple of them and that is where they both sit.
