Skylar Ragen has an amazing pole horse, ran a 19.4, 19.1 and another 19.4.  It was fun and exciting to watch all the fantastic pole and barrel horses.  A ton of 16's on the standard pattern.  20.9 does not seem very fast compared to those fantastic girls and horses but it was fast for me, lol.  I brought our pole horse out of retirement for my 24 year old daughter to run. She trained him on poles and wanted to run him again.   She found out  she is pregant, (yay- first grandbaby), has terrible morning sickness and decided not to run so I ran him.  I have run poles less than 10 times but he is as automatic you can get.  I ran a 21.7 to qualify, sat out the second go because he has a bad knee ( which is why he no longer goes, had him injected to go to ANHA), ran a 20.9 in the short go to place second in my D.  The timer did not stop, why the groaning, they had a back up timer.

His fastest time with my daughter was 20.001, she can get him to sit and turn.   She wanted to try and get that 19.  He is so much fun, he just skips through the weave, I don't move the reins at all.

You and Carol are going to have come back to Texas a little early and go to ANHA. It is a fantastic race and the pole runs are incredible, a 19.6 was 2D, 20.1 was 3D lol.

Rodeomom, I am not trying to steal this thread from you because that was one nice run but Miss Joy as well as Miss Lauren have some brags to share on their runs, too.  I felt it was inapropriate for me to bring it up in the other ANHA thread. I saw a ton of beautiful runs this weekend with some very accomplished riders. Great job everyone!
Next show we all need to meet up. Oh and barrelbasher, you, too!

So awesome! There honestly weren't many good runs in the finals this morning but I was one of the people booing when the timer didn't stop! Keeping those poles up was fun to watch, he's a neat little horse!

Wow, that is some stiff competition and I love it.  I can't imagine running a 19.7 not being a 1D time.  That's just crazy!  I've never made a 19 second run and that's a goal of mine.  I would be ecstatic to run a 19.9 and to think that would be at the bottom of the 2D is depressing!  LOL
We'll be in Texas next month.

Thanks everyone, Odie is so much fun, he is the sweetest horse you could ever own.  I was shocked that I reacted and got that end pole back up, lol.
We bought Odie as a 1D barrel horse.  He ran great for a few years than slowed down and we could not get him to fire in barrels so my daughter started messing with him on poles.  My other daughter's pole horse got hurt so Odie got recruited to go to high school state finals in Abilene, he had made been entered once and ran a 22 something.  In Abilene he ran a 21.3 and a 20.5, we had a new pole horse :).  He has been turned out for 2 years, I put shoes on him, got him vetted back in July to get him ready.  I maybe saddled him twice here at this house just to exercise him, ponyed him the rest of the time and I took him through poles once at a local jackpot.  He LOVES poles and just absolutely needs no tuning ever.  We have a friend who makes signs to put on our stalls with horses name, our name and phone number.   A man and his daughter were able to find Odies stall and were waiting for me to see if I would sell him.  He has earned his retirement with us and will never leave my place.

I was thrilled and beyond happy for the Davang girls.  Lauren and Kallyn have had so many horses get sick or injured that it is wonderful to see them have these great horses.  When they bought both mares no one really knew what they could or would be able to to.  Kallyns mare has a great record as 1D but had an injury and no longer was performing at the level her rider wanted so that was how she ended up for sale.  Laurens mare, well, no one knew she had that in her.  Lauren fixed some physical issues and figures out a bit for her- and wham they were winning local races by tenths.  It is so much fun to watch them run.

Wish I had met all you BB's who were at the race!!

I hope kmc gets on here and brags on Kinsey.  I also want to note I have never seen that girl smile so much then this weekend.  It was awesome.

Kaycee-I am so glad I got to park next to you on saturday!!!  I would have on sunday too but someone parked there.  :(  I am glad you made a clean run on saturday though I am sad I didn't get to see it!!!

I quite literally ran into chasendacash on saturday.  Usually I have brakes on my one mare and she didn't pull up as fast as usual coming out of the pen and she and her daughter were walking right by.  Of course then the next day we apologized to each other again and again when we saw each other!  haha!!

No one was hurt by the way but it was good we got to say hi!!!  :)

I actually got to see a few BB's and I was really glad I did!  I have a MUCH better game plan for next year and how to tackle ANHA and the heat and I am looking forward to it!  I would love to meet more BB's there!

I sure did notice him. HE LOOKS GREAT!  I have followed that story since it happened to you and I am so happy that it turned out for the positive for both of you.
My run was good as far as clocking but I picked her up too soon at 2nd and down it went.  No big deal because she is doing exactly what she is supposed to do, the pilot needs to be more aware.

And thanks.  Grasshopper is such an interesting character.  He needs a job more than anything right now.  I am thankful my MIL will be out in a bit and will give that to him cause he is getting obnoxious!

YES!  You are right on the progress. ;)

Grasshopper was a real gentleman when you were parked next to us.  I understand though as I have a couple retirees that need J-O-B's if they aren't turned out into the big pasture.
