Who here uses ground poles in their training and what do you think it does for the horse?

We use them and I have my opinion on what it does for the horses but would like others opinions on the subject.

I do and it depends on how you use them. They teach them where their feet are, can adjust stride length, get them looking down, use their backs, and exercises the foot-lifting muscles. I do straight lines and circles with them for different things. I've also used them on my barrel pattern to help along foot placement.

I like how you can see it "click" in their mind that they can extend or shorten their stride at any given moment.
