She changed my headstall and reins and speeded my mare up a lot.

You'll learn to be a competitor.

Fundamentals, not so much.

Let me just post again and explain a little more before someone jumps down my throat....

I believe she can teach you how to ride a barrel horse... not so heavy on how to train one, though. So if competition and speed is your weakness, I'm sure you would take away a lot. I would bring a finished horse, not a colt that needs training, in order to get the most bang for your buck.

Thanks for the replies. I was considering taking a young one but also have one who could use some speeding up as well. Like anyone else I want to get my money's worth! Is there a lot of sitting or more riding? I have been to some where my butt was more sore from sitting around than riding!

More riding. Most of the sitting on the first day

Been to many!! They are awesome, Ryan is great too! I wouldn't say they aren't as good with young horses, you are just limited to what your horse knows to fine toon the little things at a clinic. Jane and Ryan are great at taking tenths and hundreths off a pattern. I have seen young horses that have come into a clinic barely loping and by the end they are running through. I would just be real clear to Jane what your goals are for the weekend.

Can you back that statement up?

Just winning money does not make someone a knowledgeable and good teacher/instructor.

Who has she helped/coached/trained with good results?

We know you sponser her, I would like to know other vital/helpful information before paying money to go to her or anyone elses clinic

I can gurantee you I could take alot out of a clinic with any girl thats made the NFR.  Winning money is a very general statement but im sure you have heard about the trial and error it takes going down the road to vegas.

I have heard from others say she is knowledgable and I personally like Jane so that is good enough for me.  People can take my little post as they wish.

My mare was a 3D mare (4D if we made a big mistake). The first runs after Jane's clinic I was in the middle of the 1D both days at a tough Texas 250+ show. The next show I was 3rd in the 2D in a 275? entry Oklahoma show.
