Flagyl is the trade name of the drug, not the human form where I am from it is more money then the generic. Flagyl and the generic both have been liscensed for human use as well as equine use, probably other animals too but I have never looked into it. Same drug, same manufacturers for both human and animal. |

Thanks so much for the info! Vet is treating for past gastric and hind gut ulcers. Stuff is really spendy. |

   Location: Arkansas | Metronidazole is one of those drugs that has really increased in price in recent years. It used to be inexpensive. You might look into having it compounded and see if it would be less expensive that way. |
