Location: Kansas | Hmmm... ok yeah that doesn't help lol I was hoping for some reassurance that I'm just being paranoid.
So I'm 25 and a couple of weeks ago at a rodeo my left arm started tingling, I had shortness of breath, and was burning hot. I got kind of freaked out about it but didn't tell anyone because, I mean.. I'm 25 and I would look like a hypocondriac. ha ha..
So I'm at work today and it's happening again, but again, I don't want to call my doctor and have them tell me to go to the hospital if it's nothing because I have a $5,000 deductable.
Last time I was in for a check up I had very high cholestoral for all three categories, but I'm in really good shape and I eat pretty healthy so they told me not to worry about it.
*PS: I know I sound like an idiot for getting on BHW and asking about heart attach stuff when it could be happening lol |

Did you have any other symptoms with the pneumonia? |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | I'll say this. Most of the time, it's stress that causes symptoms like this in someone your age. You could be drinking too much caffeine....drinking too many Red Bulls.....smoking incense or bath salts lol idk. I'd bet money, if you don't have a strong family history that it isn't your heart, BUT it could be. I'm going to go with it's best to get it checked out by your family doctor.....and, work on lowering your cholesterol through diet changes. You may need a cholesterol lowering medication in the future.

Location: Sperry, OK | Most women don't have the same symtoms as men for heart attacks. Not saying it can't happen, but of the women I know who had heart attacks (and lived to tell about it) said their symptoms were: headache that radiated to the jaw, bad stomach cramps with what felt like heartburn or burning stomach, pain high in the back, between the shoulder blades, pain in both wrists at the same time.. things like this. Again, not saying it can't/won't happen the same as men.
I would really try to so something about that cholesterol, it might not be of concern now, but it WILL be later. You should check out Plexus for that.

Yeah they were both over 80. Feeling much better now! Especially now that I know to lay off of the bath salts. That'll hopefully do it ;) |

It was mostly constant pain from my neck down thru my arm, pain in my chest when I moved. Hot and sweating like crazy. It's been a year or so...I don't really remember that well. |

I was freaked out about the cholestoral and the fact that I'm pre-diabetic (I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, and mostly muscle.. not over weight) but my doctor made it sound like I was over-reacting just asking about my lab results. My dad is my size and has about 5% body fat and has high cholestoral and pre-diabetic so I'm not sure if just how we're meant to be or what... |

I guess not your heart.....could be your gall bladder though or the bath salts lol.
If it keeps up, go get checked out by your doctor. |

All of that has a great deal to do with genetics! You for sure need to check out Plexus now.. it was developed for Diabetics to control their blood sugar. This product would be of tremendous help for you and your dad to prevent from turning diabetic! That is all I am going to say about the Plexus, contact me if you are interested in more info (I am not a pushy sales person, so when I think I am being one.. I back off). |

Yes. If you have known issues with it, that's where I'd "guess" it's coming from. Of course, your doctor would check you thoroughly and rule out heart issues, etc. Sounds like you need a check up. |

I've seen those too, but they ususally have an underlying condition, such as cancer, sickle cell, etc. |

| I'd say GO TO THE DR. and tell him/her everything.... I did NOT have a heart attack but if I had I would of been DEAD!!! I had 98% blockage of the widow maker. That is the artery that if it gets plugged and you DO have a heart attack chances are pretty good you'll be pushing up daiseys.... I was lucky that my dr. took me seriously and found my clogged artery. |

| High cholesterol is one of the main factors that cause heart disease which causes lots of heart problems, including heart attacks. It causes buildup in your blood vessels, which effectively blocks them causing the heart attack.
The higher your overall total is, the higher your risk factor is. I would call your doctor. I'd much rather pay my deductible than be pushing up daisies!! |

That's true, but if it wasn't high enough to start her on a cholesterol medication........
I'm all for the check up with your doctor. |

Take it seriously - go to the dr. and be safe rather than sorry. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | My little brother did, 2 weeks before his 23rd birthday. Had to get a pacemaker. He's a total cowboy and very fit. Its been 10 years and he's still going strong. He does have to have his battery changed soon though. LOL We've always teased him that he doesn't have a 6 pack any more - he's got a 7 pack because the pacemaker sticks out pretty good. |

| Youngest I know of is 8 yrs old and he died.
You have risk factors, high cholesterol, pre diabetic.
If you are on birth control this is another big risk factor for heart attack and stroke if you are having symptoms as you have described.
I suggest getting a complete physical and asking your doc if it is safe to continue on birth control |

Location: Kansas | I'm going to call and ask to talk to my doctor about the lab results again (all three cholesterols were above the "extremely high" mark which freaked me out when I got my results in the mail but when I called and asked about it they said not to worry). I got my yearly physical in May or June so it's been fairly recent. |

| I am almost 40 and our 8th grade year we lost a class mate to a heart attack at a track meet. My class had lost so many by the time we graduated. Then lost 2 more in separate incidents before going to college in Aug. of that year. With that my family history is really bad concerning the heart. There are 5 kids on my dads side all have had a pace maker or difibulator (sp) put in by the time they were 38. I have been tested for numerous things and my cholesterol and tris are extremely high even with meds my tris are in the 600 range which is over the top. You need to cut as much sugar and caffeine out as possible. Watch your sodium intake. And try to rest which is the hardest one for me to do. Good Luck! |

Location: Always on call..... | Please make an appointment and tell your symptoms to your doctor. If they blow it off and say you are young and healthy go to another doctor. My good friend in medical school lost her husband at age 24 to a heart attack. He was very fit. He did have high cholesterol and a family history of heart attacks. His doctor kept blowing off his complaints of chest pains and he died. Its probably overkill but I never ignore a patient with chest pains, no matter the age. Especially if you have high cholesterol at your age. Hereditary hyperlipidemia is a HUGE risk factor for heart disease. If the symptoms are concerning to you then its reasonable to check it out. |
