I am still hanging out with/ talking to that guy. The short one. He finally cooled his jets and quit talking so dang much lol. We hang out a few times a week. He cam out yesterday evening when I was riding and I had gotten an hour late start on my nightly horse stuff from sleeping (work nights) and he said I'm going to help you and took off for the barn. He came back a few mins later and helped me unsaddle everyone. When we took everyone to the barn all the stalls had been cleaned and waters done. He's really trying guys. I think I might go hang out at his house tonight since the weather is crappy. We are getting to the nitty gritty and I'm getting weirdly nervous. I have not dated since my divorce last July.

Yay!!! So, happy for you. It's ok to be nervous. Enjoy him trying and enjoy this.

I have a date coming up with a guy I met on POF. I'm nervous too, but we've been talking for 2 weeks now and we are hitting it off. So, I'm going to go eat some free steak and not have any other expectations and enjoy myself :

Good for you! Yeah that's where I met this guy. I have learned with this guy (only one I have continued to talk to after meeting LOL) they calm down and change a little after a while (for the better in this case cause he shut up the nervous "fill the air" chatter). Good luck! Let us know!!!

You know Roanie, a dude that takes initiative and goes take care of the things that he can with the horses is a really neat thing. I think that speaks volumes about him.

And just to add to this story....I met my husband on POF.  I was tired of dating the same type of guy (horsemen, ropers, cowboys) and decided to try something different....more for my entertainment than anything else.  My husband messaged me a funny short message and he's made me laugh out loud every day since then.  I'm so glad I took the time to entertain myself with POF because it brought me the greatest gift of my life!  And while he may not saddle, unsaddle, or even lead my horses, he will drive me anywhere I want to go, he will sit and video when it's 105 degrees in the shade, and he will feed and water.  He has never griped one time about the money it takes to maintain these horses and would spend our last dime on a race horse.  HAHA  I'm so proud to call him my husband and he truly does make every day the best day of my life!

Sorry to get so mushy, but it's possible to find that person.

Good for you! Yeah that's where I met this guy. I have learned with this guy (only one I have continued to talk to after meeting LOL) they calm down and change a little after a while (for the better in this case cause he shut up the nervous "fill the air" chatter). Good luck! Let us know!!!

Yes, some guys are way chattier when they're nervous! My sister and her husband met when she was a sophomore in high school and he was a freshman. He needed a ride home one night after an FFA meeting, so I offered to give him a ride (he and my sister knew each other but had never really talked before, so I was trying to help them out). Anyways, he talked NON STOP the whole way home and cracked lame jokes and was a little annoying. Apparently it didn't bother my sister since they're now married!
So the moral of my long story is to give them a chance even if they're a little annoying at first because it's probably nerves :) Sounds like you're on the right track, and that's awesome he wants to help you out! Good luck!

Herbie - 2014-09-12 3:30 PM And just to add to this story....I met my husband on POF.

I didn't know this..I'm glad you posted. Our daughter has been doing on the online dating stuff since she works at home it's pretty hard to meet guys. The one she is dating now seems to be a great fit.

Roanie and LRQH...Best of luck in your ventures.

My SO was completely non-horse savvy- grew up in the city until about 8 years ago. Mind you, I have never had a SO who cared about my horses or my love for them- even ones who were from the country and have been around them.
My SO hadn't been around a horse, or any livestock for that matter, and he has bought me feed, sawdust, takes care of them and even trail rides with me. In fact, he just got done helping get, haul and put up a couple hundred bales.
He even learned to use my tractor and has done a lot of barn repairs.
It's great to find someone who loves you enough to love your passion-- and learn to love those passions too.
P.S. Met him at a bar...go figure

Good luck and happy you found someone!

Ok...so you know the rules...no pictures or it didn't happen!

Good luck

Most importantly, pay attention to how your favorite horse/dog responds to him...that will tell you a lot about him.

Have fun.
