This is a friend of mines horse, has anyone ever seen anything like this? She slipped last weekend during a run and seems to be sore in the front but this is on both sides.

do you have another picture thats not so close up?

the shadows make it a little tricky, and its close up so it's a little hard to orient myself. But that sort of looks like the spine of her scapula is more pronounced, like in sweeney shoulder. That happens when they sustain an injury that damages the nerve that supplies the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles over the scapula.

They are all fairly close, let me check .

What is treatment/prognosis for something like this? Apparently it had happened before when she slipped last year but it is more pronounced this time. Is it something that will just keep happening because of the initial trauma?
