Location: USA | I love it!! Wish I was brave enough to do that cut. I just recently cut all my hair off to right above my shoulders. I didn't want it to just hang and be flat so I got some good product to make it look messy. I think it's all in how you style it. Good Luck... post a pic if you get it cut. Hopefully others will post their pixie styles.. would love to see them. |

What product do you use?
Mine is currently at my shoulders, but I'm sick of it being in my face or in a ponytail. |

We have the same fears!!! I don't wear earrings, makeup, or necklaces.... never really have. Here is a picture taken in May, this was at a wedding so I was dressed up. This is not a normal occurrance, but any means!

I have been thinking about chopping mine again as well but with winter coming I want my hair to cover my neck and I am getting married next spring and I want long hair for that.
I really don't think you will look butchy. Just tease it a little and go on. |

I had long hair past my shoulders and I was tired and needed a change so I went short. My kids said I should not cut it but after I got home they both said how much younger I looked. I get a ton of compliments and it is so easy to do. Facebook "nothing but pixies" has some amazing cuts on there. Hair will alwasys grow! |

| I have worn a pixie for several years and am just now growing it out. I too wear very little makeup, but almost always earrings.
You can rock it!
When I changed mine - I went back to my stylist and took a couple "lessons" using her tools and my goop to learn how to do my hair the best way. It truly made me feel better about my short hair and what to do with it! Mine only charged me 10$ and a latte' to help me out for both the lessons!! :) |

This one, is how I normally get it cut, except I usually go a little shorter in the back.

| Not only does your face shape have a lot to do with your haircut, but your hair type as well. Some hair types and pixies require clippers to be used on the back. If you have really thick hair, the stylists at my hair salon always recommend it. It can help it lay better. Some ladies don't feel comfortable with clippers and personally I don't care for how it looks.
Personally there are 3 products I love for styling a pixie. Tigi Manipulator, Chi Pliable Polish and Redken Rough Paste. |

I think there are a few ways to keep a short haircut from looking butch such possibly volume, waves, tossled look, longer in the front than the back, side swept bangs, punky, edgy, etc...not all at the same time necessarily, but you get the idea.

I'll attach a picture of it. I LOVE that haircut...and it grows out nice too. Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to let my hair grow out or cut it short again (I like both ways...the ease of a short haircut is SOOO nice).
ETA: I LOVE the example you have of a pixie...if I could pull one off I would. You have feminine enough features I think you could do it.

I LOVE it!! I just got it done yesterday, so I haven't really had a chance to play with it yet. My hair stylist said I need to get a good paste and a good hairspray, which I'm hoping to get from her this weekend. It's so sassy - and I feel like it really makes my facial features stand out. Wish I did it months ago! |

So here is the million dollar question....can you pull the front part back to get it out of your face if you want to???? I'm so used to wearing a pony tail that i'm worried I would go crazy trying to get it out of my face.
Problem #2....i dont' have a stylist I usually go to. I'm a walk in ther first place I see and get a trim kind of person! LOL |

I was a pony tail girl also.... to a fault! It was either up in a pony tail or straightened out. Here is a picture my stylist took. You REALLY need to get a stylist! I had another picture of a hair cut that I liked, and when I showed her, she said absolutely not! She really saved me from looking awful! A good stylist will do that for you.

My hair is uber super fine and it's short like Halle Berry, just with longer bangs. Trust me, with the right products, you can do ANYTHING with your hair. I sometimes do modified faux-hawk (and yes, I'm rocking my cowgirl boots too). My hair is never just flat on my head, unless I want that specific look. |

Herbie, buddy up with a friend and use her stylist. I've went to my stylist for 4+ years now. I don't even tell her what to do, she just knows and she doesn't do anything crazy to me, lol.. I don't even make the appointments, my friend just tells me when to be there, lol. I would never keep up with it on my own! (I suck at all things like that) Thought about cutting it out of the budget several times but man I can't do it yet... It would be worse than a horrific breakup.. Maybe I should and I'd stress out enough I'd lose weight.. Hmm, maybe I'm on to something here.... |
