I worked in Del Mar CA by the race track... the Hilton had a convention going on whose theme was "Where The Turf Meets The Surf". They called the tack store I worked for and asked if anyone had a horse quiet enough to ride through the hotel during the convention to the bugler doing the call to the post. I volunteered Duncan. He was just shy of 5 when we did this. Dim lights, 140 people clapping, and music playing and he navigated his way through the ball room. We had a couple of practice sessions in the empty ball room first, so I got to ride him through. The twist was having to walk up 8 concrete stairs into the back hallway with the slick linoleum flooring. He didn't take one false step and I'm happy to say, it was a success! |

Location: Oklahoma | He's a 2008 model. I've had him since he was a weanling and I've done all his training myself. He's honestly the BEST minded stallion, which is why he still has his manhood. He's gentle enough for my daughter to ride him around and I know he'll take care of her. He bred his first mares last year and I'm looking forward to 2015. I haven't advertised him much... He's a VERY versatile boy, he does english too.

Location: Alberta | This is a fun thread! I love seeing candids of stallions, you get an opportunity to see what their really like at home!
This is our young man (3yrs old), he's shaping up to be an amazing horse and we couldn't be happier with the choice we made to purchase him!!
I've talked about the loss of our other stallion on here before and it was SOOOO hard to move on but I think I am finally giving this guy the chance and love he deserves - no longer the "replacement"! <3
He has just enough attitude to make him fun but has been hands down the easiest horse my husband has ever trained. The branding pics from this spring are the first time he has ever been rode in an open pasture, seen cows, roped anything and he never missed a beat - was a fun fun day!

Not wanting to hijack the thread and these are NOT stallions, but they are by this boy. He is throwing some very nice minded colts. 3 year old filly.

Thanks! I certainly think its beneficial for a stallion to have a job outside of breeding mares. I know our guy sure gets some pent up energy when he hasn't been out of his pen or used in a while BUT because we don't have much land he is cooped up in a pen, would be a different story if he could have his own pasture or run with the mares. Its also fun to work with him and see what he is capable of and cross our fingers his foals are the exact same way! lol |

| I want to play. Here is Sharky a son of Special Leader out of a Streaking Six mare , he doesn't have a job really I wish he did though. He did race until he was 5. I rarely have serious pictures of him because he wants to follow you around or play. Then I threw in a couple of the old man who is 32 this year a son of Dash For Cash out of a Lady Bugs Moon daughter. Bank The Cash is the sweetest old man who just cost me lots of money to feed but we love him.

Location: ND | Well this is a thread I never thought I'd be participating in, as owning a stallion was about the LAST thing I ever thought I'd do. But I'm officially admitting to owning a stallion! Ruger is just 2 years old & I haven't done much with him yet other than jump on him bareback & go for short rides, he's been saddled a few times but not going to do any serious riding until next year. Eventually he'll be getting used on the ranch & then become one of my mounted shooting horses.

Location: Desert Land | This is a good friend of mine's stallion. I am just in awe of him - which says a lot because I have NEVER been a fan of roans, something about them just doesn't do it for me. But this guy I LOVE!! He is so athletic and quick in the videos I have seen of him working. Can't wait to watch him run at the futurities. These pics are of him last year as a 2 yr old when he was getting broke.

ChasingCans04 - 2014-09-18 10:52 AM Now you have to tell the hotel story! How in the world…??
How Cool! And a wonderful, well minded young stud!
But did he POOP in the hotel?
I had a pony growing up that got to cameo in the high school musical when they did "Oklahoma". She pulled the "little red surry with the fringe on top" during that scene. We had to bring her in the school well before the play started to avoid the noise. I think there were 6 or 7 performances, plus a few rehearsals, and she was in the building for a couple of hours or more each time. Every time the director went by her in the hallway he'd say "Poop Penny, POOP!" LOL, he said he wanted it as "real" as possible!
I can't remember which night, but one night she fell asleep and we missed our cue to leave because my brother couldn't get her to go and had to get out and go wake her up! |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Here is mine. I'll even post his name since it isn't adertising as he has since passed. VF Burrs Eye. We bought him out of race training as a 2yr old and had him 12 very blessed years. Here is one with him and a son of Rare From we used to own. He was injured at 5 so most of his pics are just random pasture ones.
