My old retired barrel horse was diagnosed with Cushings earlier this week. She's holding decent weight and I've changed her to more of a senior diet due to lack of desire to eat- which did make a difference. She's sound and happy, just a little fuzzy still.

Which online pharmacy has the better pricing on prascend or compounded pergolide?

She does not have the metabolic problems. Just cushings. For 28+ years old, retired barrel horse, and only having had 2 visits to the vet besides coggins, she's doing pretty good :)

Just be careful and watch your horse carefully! I had my 30 year old on it and he was looking great until he started  the pergolide and than Smart pak stopped carrying it and he was on Presend. I noticed he was losing weight in the last year but was told he's just getting old. WELL it was 30 days from switching from one meds to the other and his appetite picked up! The moment the Presend came in he went off food again. They say its "rare" that they could lose their appetite but read the remarks on the Smart Pak page my horse was NOT the only one that lost weight. He lost so much we thought we would have to put him down. We stopped the meds and his appetite and weight is back to normal. Watch if your horse loses his appetite. Its not old age, its probably the meds.
