What do you all do for conditioning your bleeders? What do you feed for a supplement to help with the bleeding? I have been giving her aspirin and her regular supplements. I have been looking at giving her the Silver Lining NoLasix. Has anyone ever been able to get their bleeder off Lasix? Thank you for any info!

Aspirin thins their blood and makes them bleed worse...ETA- this is what I was told at a clinic. I actually had brought some for my horse. BUT it was for a sore muscle not bleeding. I'd do 10 days of trotting for 45 minutes to start, work up to it, then add a little loping. Walk a bunch before and after. ETA avoid working in the hottest part of the day.

There are several good products that people have used successively. Animal Element helps, but mine bleeds through that alone. DAC does make a mineral formula that several people have successfully used. I have a good friend that uses AE and patches, and her mare has not bled in a long time. I think a lot of it depends on how bad the horse bleeds, and remember that just because you don't see blood, does not mean they did not bleed into the lung. Only Scoping can actually see. I have not used Silver Lining but know people that have. Our mare is exercised regularly, long trotting and loping long straight lines. She is also walked a lot, a few miles a day 4 or 5 days a week. Races about 2 or 3 times a month.
