I have recently come cross an ad in a magazine for the tinning tongue Plate bits and I was wondering if anyone has used one or ever heard of them?! My mare has an issue with displacement of the soft palate, and I have always wondered if there was something other than surgery that could fix it??? If anyone has used any of these buts pleased let me know! Thanks!

I have a horse that displaces and I use a WTP bit on her. I have more than one type and it took some consistent riding for the bit to really make a difference and her to adjust. It was worth the investment in my opinion.

I have the WTP Western Universal NP (no plate). I really like it for my one horse. The more I ride him in the better he is. I thinks it takes them some time to get used to it cuz the mouth piece is quite thick. But he seems very comfortable and responsive in it. This particular horse I think would displace when he was stressed some times, and would even make noise/roaring. The bit I have doesn't have the tounge plate, but I think just the thickness of the mouth piece on the NP is enough to help him keep his tounge down.
