I don't live there so I honestly could not say about the schools BUT I do travel to lots of barrel races in the tri-cities area and there is lots of barrel racing action there.  If you go to www.brn4d.com there is a listing under schedule of races.  Tons of barrel races in Kennewick, Pasco, and nearby Walla Walla.  Welcome to the northwest!

I don't know that area, but funny b/c I graduated from Texas Tech in Dec. 2012 and now live in Southern Oregon! Good luck!

Not sure about schools but anywhere in the tri-city area is barrel racer heaven. Walls walla is close by, you have the races at the TRAC in Pasco, and you're really close to those bigger races in Echo OR. And you can almost ride year round. It won't be warm, but you can ride in the winter. Benton city is a small quaint town that's a short commute from the tri-city area.

They have a ton of races at the Kennewick fairgrounds too. Like almost weekly during summer. The gal that produces them is really nice. Schools are good there from what my friends say. We have wanted to move back to that area for years (we are about two hours away) but our school here is unbeatable so we probably will after they are grown
