Anybody have experience or know of anyone that has been able to fly or drive into Canada with a felony on their record!? It's nothing major but inadmissible in Canada. Do they actually check at the border when driving & trying to cross? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

Don't mark my words because it depends on your record, but we tried to go a while back a group of friends, one of which had a felony, and decided to road trip elsewhere because it got so complicated. He needed a waiver/claim form and all of the records to support it he was "rehabilitated." I believe you actually have to go to a Canadian port of entry for the assessment ahead of time and then bring all the documentation + their finally decision with you to the boarder when you actually cross. Then it's up to whichever Boarder officer you run into that day. Some will let you through, some will not. Seems like a ton of time & money for a maybe to me!! I'd check the canadian gov. website or call Canadian boarder services and ask them what the best thing to do is. Like I said that was just my friends case, I know there are different degrees of felonies... Good luck!
