What is a good saddle for WIDE shoulders, full back with a flare? He drops back behind his shoulders so all of my saddles end up in the dip. He is currently in a FQH bar saddle. Tried a Biofit, Corrector, Pocket pad, 5 star, etc and the saddle still slides back in the dip. Thanks

Do yoy have a before pic and after pic. A lot of saddles are made not to be on top of the withers. And some times the guy that made my saddle has helped people saddle fit with a double rigging allowing for different placement of the girth.

A lot of people claim it doesn't that work, but I've seen it in my horse. I love my crown c. I need to put a picture story together but we've gone from a 7" to a 9.5" gullet since April. The top line that this horse has developed and the amount that the dip has filled in is crazy! We've got 1 shim on the 9.5" now but I think soon we'll be out of it and this saddle will probably, hopefully, be his last.

Cactus Charmayne James. Just because it has FQHB or a certain gullet measurement it all depends on the flare of the bars. CJ saddles have 7" gullet but a lot of flare.

My reg tree Pozzi fits my wide shoulder/flare horses great. They will send you a demo for $150 (shipping cost) I believe. Double J was great to work with too!
