Location: WYOMING | I use it, buy it in bulk but ive not used it long enough to make a difference. Ive read where some studies think it may help with certain joint issues... but who knows. I know a number of old timers swear by it and lots of times they know best.... |

And a lot of times they are just "old wives tales". |

Location: KS | Well my paint mare lost most of her tail when she had a baby and she has been on gelatin for about 6 months and I have seen a lot of growth on her tail. Her feet seem a little better but love her longer tail. SO where is it you buy it bulk? |

Location: Stuck in a cubicle having tropical thoughts | I've had good results on my mare with tiny, dry, brittle feet that were falling apart by feeding her Finish Line's Feet First Coat 2nd. Gelatin is one of the ingredients in it. I've read and compared hundreds of labels and prices for hoof supplements and this is one of the few with Gelatin and it's very affordable per day. I buy it from Big Dee's tack. This mare also seems to have filled out more and has a nicer topline and I think this 'hoof' supplement helped her look better all around.

I was buying it from bulkfoods but found twice as much for the same price at http://www.gelatininnovations.com/pages/gatco.html
and they can add Biotin also. |

Yes I use Animed Hoof Medic. Its much less expensive and my comparisons were it has as much if not more of Biotin, Zinc, and Methionine in it than the other kinds. It doesn't have any of extra stuff in it though just hoof related stuff. Then I add gelatin.
I think people want to see results too soon when using this type stuff. It takes a loooong time for a already slow growing hoof to grow out.
I also used THE Hoof Salve the past 5 weeks. It REALLY helped harden up the sole. I will keep using it since it proved itself to me.
I guess I am doing all I can at this point. If it would quit raining and the bugs would go away that would help lots!!!!

| Tried it .... Didn't do a damn thing!!! I have heard that farriers formula is really good. I gave up trying anything else after gelatin. |

Location: TN | I've used it for well over a year and it works great for my horse! He used to have shelly, cracking, brittle hooves. A packet a day of Knox gelatin on his feed has made a big difference. It's funny someone mentioned her horse's tail growing out on gelatin because my horse's tail has grown a few inches since he's been on it. It drags the ground now where before the gelatin it was about 5 inches off the ground. |

Location: WYOMING | I dont think many people give enough time for results. Think of a SLOW growing hoof. Supplements, hoof feed thrus, can take 9-12 months consistent use before any results are seen. Its a long process. |
