I haven't posted on here in a long time but I thought I would get peoples opinions first before I decide anything...

I have owned a palomino gelding for 7 plus years...He is a trained heel horse and has won money. (with past owner) I haven't ridden him in awhile due to work and other personal things..He is fast. I don't know his age but in his teens.

He has a major attitude.

My question is..Is he to old to take to a trainer for barrels..I don't plan on ever being competitive but just playdays.

You'll get a lot of good advice on here but first, lol. I have some questions.... I don't know much so I'll leave that to the experts. What are you feeding him? Has your work schedule changed? Why aren't you training him? You're way ahead since he's a ex rope horse. Sometimes the attitude comes from too much grain and not enough riding. Too fat and sassy :)

He is on Purina active senior with a scoop of 4 in 1 trifecta. Pistol is on grass hay..But will soon be on mixture grass and alfalfa cause of winter. H cant have straight alfalfa or hes crazy hot.

Gets hot on most grain so Purina senior is the best. He is fat yes. I changed his saddle to a semi. btw. He is utd on chiro, teeth, vet, etc..Hes a happy horse. Just needs boot camp.

My family says hes to old to turn circles.

Any way to make a picture smaller..I cant seem to post pictures.

if hes thick cowy.. or just fat..maybe the saddle pinches him... semi is narrow and doesnt fit alot of horses well.

I have two saddles...a semi and full.

He wasn't working in the full so I bought a semi. Thinking it would correct the problem.

A few people said that the full bars were pinching his shoulders.

I have a facebook page with tons of pictures of him if you would like to see his build. :)
