| I am better off but...I graduated college in 2008 and entered the banking industry. It really could not have got worse. I will say that even though I am now better off, I can guarantee it was not because of anything Obama did. Americans are resiliant and can overcome alot of things, even Obama. |

| I graduated in December of 2007, so although I am better off, I was just starting my life when Obama was elected. I attribute nothing to mine or my husband's success to the President, or anyone else for that matter. We are where we are because we've worked hard and bettered ourselves. |

| I am better off because I work hard save my money and got out of debt. Also, diesel has gone up, food bill for me and horses. Oh yeah he sure helped us out. I love the fact I got my raise and my paycheck went down due to taxes. That gives me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing my taxes pay for free phones and more money to those whom choose not to work and can but they make more to stay at home!! |

Location: Online | The only people that are better off are those who are rich and knee deep in the stock market, or those on welfare. The middle class who work their asses off to scrimp and save and live paycheck to paycheck are the ones who are hurting. Fuel prices, food prices, and of course everybody's favorite...... Higher taxes to pay for those who are standing in line at walmart with their ebt cards talking on their Obama iphone.
I voted FOS in the poll. He is a narcissist. Of course he thinks America is better off after he took control. All he sees are puppy dogs and kittens. And his followers are still fall down drunk on the koolade. |

I am none of those things, just some one who has worked really hard to improve my life. I don't give credit or blame to the government. I have a strong work ethic and have made some smart moves. I will never be rich with my job, but I can improve my situation little by little with a positive attitude and some hard work. I refuse to buy into the doom and gloom that so many people do. Where has the can-do spirit gone in this country? It makes me sad to see so much negativity and reluctance for ownership of owe's own life and outcomes. |

I think most of us are just plain tired of working our a$$es off just to hand over almost HALF of our wages to the government in taxes to "help" those who will NOT work. |

That, and the screwing around with health care that has screwed it up for everyone. Not that it was perfect before, far from it, but the changes they made were not the right ones IMO. I can't take ownership in those things when the decisions were made against my wishes by people I didn't vote for.

Well you are the minority. Do you think the rest of us haven't worked our asses off? Do you think the rest of us who are struggling because of higher fuel, food, taxes, higher healthcare premiums, working our asses off to pay for the poor and the influx of illegals into this country don't have good work ethics? This president and his policies along with our democratic senate who's leader won't even look at legislation if it is proposed by a republican are destroying the middle class. I thought Liberals are for the little guy, I thought that they felt sorry for those who are struggling and would help them. Well the majority of the middle class is struggling and what do we get? We get to fund the deadbeats.
I'll tell you where the can do spirit went. It disappeared when Obama took over. He, along with Holder and the liberal media are constantly dividing groups. The liberal big mouths are emboldened, anytime someone prays in public, wears an American flag, shows their patriotism, they are berated because it might offend someone. People are afraid of speaking up, they are afraid to express their beliefs and celebrate them because of the backlash. You can't show your love of God and country without being labeled a bigot, zealot, crazy right wing loon. Look at the Tea Party. They believe in less government, more power to the people, lower taxes and free will and they get bashed constantly and labeled "extremist". All while blacks, hispanics, and athiests get everything they want without a fight. It's wrong. How many times has the media reported a white kid getting shot by a black cop? But by golly if a white cop kills a black kid there are riots and representatives from the White House go to the funeral. Has Obama said a word about the OK beheading? Has he sent Holder to OK to investigate? Is anyone from the WH going to that poor woman's funeral? Obama has done nothing but divide this country.

My husband and I were talking about the divide in this country and the problem is white people don't have an association to stand up for their rights. Too many are busy trying to prove that they aren't racists and try to help everyone else except themselves. Do you really think the NAACP cares about anyone except themselves? LOL |

It might even be illegal to say anything against him, he has snuck in so many rules/laws since he's been in office it's hard to tell. Must be a tough time to be in the military, thanks for your service.
OT, but that is one beautiful baby!

I just love how Libs only focus on the "positive". Even if that positive is a false positive. They can't see that. When you ask a Liberal how it's so great they tell you half truths and spin the facts. Or the old stand by...... Well Bush did it. That one drives me the most insane. I admire your spirit. I too have worked really hard to improve not only my life, but my family's life as well. In fact I have worked 40 plus years and have a very strong work ethic. I find myself nearing retirement and it is not looking as rosie as I thought it would. We have saved some for our golden years - but with the cost of living far exceeding anything we have ever seen in our life time I worry. I do blame the government for some of this. It is their decisions on key issues that drive the enonomy - not the other way around. I remember when there was a stong middle class. Now that term is thrown around a lot - but I will tell you the middle class is erroding at a fast rate and that in part lies at the feet of the government. There is no true middle class - there are now working poor and low end high income with not much in the middle. And for years it was that nice chunk in the middle that kept things going for this country. Since we have been responsible for supporting all these politically correct - feel good - keep em lazy handouts our backs are spirits are broken. The can do spirit is going out the window right behind common sense which left the building long ago. BTW - I voted our country has gone to hell - and it hurt to do that - but it's they way I feel.

Location: Bastrop, Texas | The only way I can explain Obama's rise to power is that he had powerful forces behind him that are not of this world. Look at his mentors, such as "Uncle Frank", Frank Marshall Davis, who Obama identified as one of his role models. Davis was a leader of a Marxist political party in Chicago. Both of Obama's parents harbored an intense hatred of America and her "Imperial Neo-Colonialism". Obama, in his own words, sought out Marxists and radicals when he was in college, and he was fascinated with Marxism. His methods and his agenda are supporting evidence that he espouses Marxism. His resume' is conspicuously lacking in any meaningful accomplishments. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was his winning a Nobel Prize, but that wasn't due to any works, rather, it was due to his expressed agenda, and nothing more. That fact alone is chilling. Another of his mentors, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, harbors an intense hatred for America, and has used the pulpit to fan the flames of racism and antisemetism. Prior to 2008, I had never heard of a "community organizer". Obama himself is an admirer of a fellow "community organizer", Saul Alinski, and has actually employed many of Alinski's tactics throughout his reign in creating chaos. I find it chilling that Alinski, in his first book, dedicated his writing to the "first community organizer" - LUCIFER. |

Location: East Texas | Do I think the country is worse off? Of course I do. Everyone wants to blame O, but there are 500 other elected officials that have more pull and power than he does. The real problem is that a majority of our country voted these fools into office.
Now with that said. My family is better off than it was 8 years ago and I am neither extremely rich or whatever else you guys were claiming it benefited...... Not questioning how hard anyone is working, but what you are working hard at. I tell my HS students all the time that they can walk out the door with no HS degree and make $40/hr with little to no capital investment. I know right now that companies around me a begging for truck drivers, and if you are willing to relocate, you can make $1000/day.
Again, I think our country is worse off, and I hate paying over 50% of my income in taxes. I started my herd with 12 old cows I bought off a local guy that was selling out. Bitching about fuel prices? Go to work in the petroleum industry and cash in on the boom. Find a way.....I was talking to an plumbing contractor the other day who is a multi-millionaire. He immigrated here about 20 years ago with only the clothes he was wearing and could not speak the language.......crap, everyone on here is ahead of that guy when he started. My cousin who has a college degree felt the economic pressure several years ago started a rural trash pick up business. He is now bringing in $30K/ month.

I agree. The best thing that could happen, politically speaking, is for a group of people to embrace the idea of intellectual honesty that is without regard to party affiliation. If that group of people happened to be conservative and Republican, that would eventually be the best thing that could happen to the Republican Party. Republicans who are true conservatives really should display brutal intellectual honesty, and focus first on the hypocrites and scoundrels within their own party. Once that is established, they would have also established some genuine respect and credibility. For example, how Mark Sanford managed to get elected to congress is an enigma to me. He was a liar and a crook who abused his power and displayed some of the most blatant hypocrisy one can imagine while he was governor of South Carolina. It's obvious to me that this country is crying out for THIS kind of change. That's probably the only way we will ever get the most important change we need.....term limits. |

The government certainly played a role in the recession with mortgage, banking, and energy policies, but there was also a large segment of the population living STUPIDLY, like the good times would never end and the high values in the stock and housing markets were justified, rather than a bubble ripe for popping. There are some farmers getting caught in the same trap right now, after the last few years of prosperity and high land values. They convinced themselves it was the new normal. Ha! |

If you look at the history of all the recessions that this country has had they all where lead by the bottom falling out of the housing market. You can go back as far as the early 1800 hundreds this has been true. And every time the Government has tried the control this market it has failed. |

His ideology of America is the world's bully and he is the one to change all that is stopping him in his tracks. You have to deal with the hand that is dealt you and he trying his hardest not to. He takes no responsibility for any failures. "I promised to end the war in Iraq and I did." "I killed Osama Bin Laden" "Al queda is decimated and on the run" When it comes to Isis: The CIA under estimated, failed intelligence- no I or we any where in his statements. He had daily briefings on ISIS and the danger presented by them. He has ignored all advice from the military brass for years. Maybe we would not need boots on the ground now if he had paid attention to the briefings, followed the military's advice and not taken a passive approach to the middle east.
His passive approach is leading us down a scary path.

THIS! I don't even feel like THIS prez is on OUR side! He's about as far from being an American as a Chinese pug!
That's an insult to Chinese pugs. |

Location: East Texas | One of the things that bugs me is that America has always done it different than the rest of the world. O is trying to make us more like the rest of the world.
Also, politicians treat the symptoms and not the cure. Such as the border. We do not need more at the border. We need to take the incentives away for making the illegals want to come. Take that away and we no longer have a huge border issue |

How so??????no they arent. trust me.AND the stocks Plummeted and might have came up a fraction but still lost asses in them..and alot of wealthy worked their asses off to get there and has lost alot as well..
welfare I can agree on.. Depends on what stocks you have I guess. My extremely Liberal brother can't stop bragging on how good he has it. Drives me crazy. Obama is the best..... He won't be smiling when the federal reserve stops propping it up. That's what I keep saying.... It's all phony. When it ends it will hurt. Bad.
I just love how Libs only focus on the "positive". Even if that positive is a false positive. They can't see that. When you ask a Liberal how it's so great they tell you half truths and spin the facts. Or the old stand by...... Well Bush did it. That one drives me the most insane. Because Bush did it, does it make it ok? That's the weakest argument yet.
In all fairness……..the economy DID go into a deep recession during Bush’s tenure (2007) and was tumbling down long before that time. And from that, it has never recovered ….Has this administration helped it recover….I don’t think so……but to "pooh-pooh" Bush's (or the Republican) responsibillity is asinine too! Yes, this is true. But who took over Congress in 2007? I see a direct correlation......
TRUE…..however, you need to look back further than 2007……..There is certainly enough BLAME to go around for BOTH parties. I agree with Scott's..….that WE, the people, are the stupid ones since we keep electing both Republican and Democrat dumbA$$s that only take care of themselves. After they are elected, any promises, etc go out the window and they “pander” to the “money”……..instead of what is best for the country.
Things certainly changed on Sept. 11, 2001 and it wasn't for the better. |
