Location: Tx | Here is my 2.5 year old daughter riding my sisters 7 year old, 16 hand, paint gelding, bareback with split reins. Carter (my daughter) can do anything with him and on him.
We also have 2 others that my kids (ages 4.5 and 2.5) ride but I don't have photos of them riding on my work computer.

And here is Streaker taking care of my stepson--in the first pic he is 6, and the second pic (taken this February) he is 14. I never thought I would let her go (I got as a weanling) but everything fell into place and she now has the PERFECT home with a little girl to spoil her, rather than wasting away in my pasture. |

| I have had a few been lucky and had people share their horses with us. The first is a palomino mare named Goldie and my daughter use to show her lead line when she was around 16 months to 2 yrs old. Then we had Elmer a very big gelding that she rode and did lead line on at 3 and finally Dually who she had for a number of years, a friend let us keep her after she retired from roping. She learned a lot of her because she was safe but still made you work for what you wanted. It wont' load Dually pics .

We are the same way at our house. We own 4 horse and 3 of them I have no problem putting my kids on them. The other one is only 2 so he is just being lightly started but other than that it is kind of a requirement. |

He's not much to look at, but with his insecurities, he has become beautiful in our eyes. Amber can crawl all over him. She's still very much a beginner rider, and he puts up with her like a champ.

| My now 8 year old son has been riding the same horse since he was 6 months old. This picture was taken at our NBHA State Show. He loves "Spot" and will probably ride her for a few more years. She may not be the fastest barrel horse, but she is a really good team roping horse that is teaching him how to rope. |

The second picture is my niece, on her paint mare "Bunny" and my daughter on her QH gelding "Jo."

Location: The best kept secret in TX | I'll never forget the old rope mare that took care of me. My dad's friend gave us "that ol' bay King mare" for $50 because she physically couldn't be a broodmare at the afe of 19.
But that never stopped her from taking care of me. She momma'd me and took care of me. And I'll never forget what she taught me about being kind and gentle with horses.
I passed her along at the age of 32 to a little girl I baby sat when I was a teen
Betsy Died peacfully in her stall in her sleep at the age of 42 after teaching the little girl and her 3 sisters to ride as well.
She's barried under her favorite Parsimon Tree at our Ranch.
Love seeing all these pictures!! Brings back GREAT memories of my little bay mare

Location: MI | Love these! We have 3 at our house, 2 that are currently being used (1 that is out with a suspensory issue). Sonic is the bay mare. She is my oldest's main mount right now. I owned her and barrel raced on her for 3 years when she was younger. Then I sold her, and another owner had her for 10 years. I bought her back this past spring. So glad to have her back, and she is just an awesome match for my kiddos.
The mini is Susie, our 'babysitter'. Rock solid on the ground and has taught the kids a ton about caring for a horse independently.Since we have so many kids (4), everything here must be kid friendly. And they all are, except for my 3.5 year old gelding (smh), he's too curious and doesn't respect the kids right now. Not mean, just horribly playful. Therefore, the kids are not allowed in the pasture alone. But besides that, we're all friends :).

Location: Southwest Minnesota | I've had quite a few awesome kids horses over the years. My girl's are all big now, my baby is 17 and a Senior in high school. My oldest daughter's big fat appy is the resident babysitter now. She ran him at open shows and 4-H in all the speed events and also showed him in Western Pleasure, English Pleasure and Showmanship. He will go whatever speed his rider wants to go. Last summer we leased him out to another 4-her and she qualified for the State 4-H Horse Show in games (Barrels, Poles, Keyhole, and Jumping Figure 8) on him. Here is a picture of my 10 year old neice riding him. She only gets to ride when she comes to visit me, her parents don't have horses. This gelding is worth his weight in gold and that's a lot because he weighs over 1300 pounds.

Location: MD | He's still in Iowa because due to some interesting circumstances. but this horse LOVES kids. He'll stand as still as possible when kids brush him down, he'll drop his head down low in hopes for some extra kisses. He was my first horse and soon will be my boyfriends kids horse when I can get him here to MD. He is so quiet and gentle around them, and when asked to pick up a trot he'll do that little put put trot until the kid gets too bouncy, then he'll stop and let them reorganize themselves. He really is a treasure.
I love my Jax :)

Location: Kansas | I've been lucky enough to have several great kid horses who helped my younger brothers and I learn to ride, and I'm currently very lucky to have two great kid horses that are also talented barrel horses. Chance and Streak have been spending some extra time with two local kids who wanted to learn how to ride, and the horses are really impressing me. Streak is behaving great for a third grade boy and Chance has fueled a 6th grade girl's love for horses. Here are a couple pictures of them in "action" a few weeks ago.
