Location: Oklahoma | No, I would never say that. We are supposed to ENCOURAGE one another, not tear them down....and as for that quote....I knew a girl that ran a horse that went down the fence for a year. I used to feel so sorry for her, but she kept at it and kept working with him and she ended up going to the IFR 3 years in a row and won the average 1 year. When he finally quit going down the fence, he was a force to be reckoned with and he was definitely a 1D horse....so don't say it can't happen....I've SEEN it happen. Next time you feel like saying something negative, try turning it around to something positive. You can help make someone's day instead of ruining it for them. |

 Dancing in my Mind

Location: Eastern OH but my heart is in WV | Here is what I don't understand, we are just back yard owners and by no means make a living, or invest a LOT of money in our horses, but why does everyone feel the need to say they have a "1/2D" horses? We have a nice 2/3D youth horse that my daughter is doing well on. We don't compete at HUGE barrel races but she is doing Jr. rodeo, jackpots and a few larger shows and they can hold their own (when they have it all together. lol). I understand those who striving for the true 1D horse but not every horse is a super star. I just wish people could be honest about their horse's potential because there is no shame in a good solid horse no matter what division they run in.
The same can be said when you read all the ads that say "would make a good barrel horse" just because the horse can run in the field Because really, I can run too if some one puts ice cream in front of me, but a track star I am far from being

Location: Cocoa, Florida | I have a horse that after 5 years is running a whole second faster, he's even hit bottom of 2D in big shows in FL which is hard when you're running against Fame Fling & Bling down here, the south is getting extremely hard!!!!
I don't know if I just learned to ride better (probably) or if riding the colts helped but either way I used to be the 4D Queen.
Having a 1D horse would be amazing and not all of us can afford to go out and buy one but I've learned with persistence, lessons and commitment any horse and rider can get better if they work for it! I think to many people give up on their horses to early! |

Why can't people just be nice.. ??
I've seen it happen too. Horse quit running up the fence, as the rider only let him high lope (not run) to the first. Then, they smoked everyone for several years. |

| I am glad the majority would prefer to encourage. I beat myself up plenty without other people helping me out! I am sure I am not alone either! A horse I rode consistently in the mid 3D became a 2D wonder after 10+ years of running BECAUSE I LEARNED to KICK. Some of us don't have the luxury to buy finished horses or sell those that don't perform to perfection within a few months. Summers are SHORT and winters are LONG and it takes what seems like forever to get a horse going. To Each THERE OWN!
Also : Corbin is amazing. |

Location: Lala Land | While I find the videos funny I think Diane hit the nail on the head. It isn't fair to judge people that have ran the same horse and haven't improved for any amount of time, maybe you don't know their story or horses story and kudos to those who stick with it and succeed!! |
