| Checking in, it's been just over 5 weeks since I went completely Grain Free! I can safely say I'm never going back! My initial weight loss slowed down, until I recalibrated carb intake, now I'm losing again. I was eating too much fruit. :( (Sad sigh). Taking the Womens Ripped supplement pack you get at GNC. One of the caplets looks suspiciously like fish oil, I'm terrified it will break while I'm trying to hoark it down---shudder.
12 lbs down!
Don't need naps anymore, which were a staple in my life.
Not hungry all the time.
Smaller portions are easy, I'm just not as hungry.
(Still eating a candy bar every day. I need to get over that and quit it)
My breathing is better (I have athsma).
I have lost so much swelling around my face! I'm starting to look like my grandmother at the same age, good angles in the face.
2" off hips
3" off belly
3" off waist
1" off chest
1" off neck
1/2" off each thunder thigh.
I have found some fantastic recipes for bread, pizza crust, and other lovelies that I was really missing that have no flour or grains.
I cheated one time and ate a bunch of rice last week. I woke up the next morning, had retained so much water that my fingers were hard to bend.
I'm absolutely never going back to grains and flour, though sometimes I miss them. I just hit the kitchen and start cooking!
My husband is doing this with me, he's 15 lbs down in 30 days. He looks ten years younger with all the swelling that is gone from his face.
Neither of us have been working out. Just same old chores as usual. I'm telling everyone about this, because you deserve to know about Wheat Belly and Wheat Belly Total Health, both books you can download or have shipped to you.
Like I keep repeating, I feel so good, I'm never going back. |

Woo hoo!
I was doing the wheat belly way of eating for a while, and lost 12 lbs in a month doing nothing else but changing my eating habits. I fell off the wagon around the holidays, and gained half of that back. I'm trying to get back on the wagon now! |

Location: SE KS | SO please share what you are doing - I have asthma and I notice when I eat grains, I have a hard time breathing.... or where do I find this info. I have also been introduced to "Whole 30" - that cuts out grains.... I know eating processed food contributes to my asthma of a "heavy" feeling.... |

It's pretty simple...No grains. When I eat grains I retain water, I snore and have sleep apnea. I haven't had that problem since I stopped eating grains.
Congrats Megan! As much as you used to do before going off of grains you must be like the energizer bunny! LOL |

| Sure. :)
I'm the big 30! Lol, I know, just a baby.
Well, as I see it with my breathing; what am I most deathly allergic to in this world? Grasses. Hay, pollinating grass, newly cut grass, grass dust.
It only makes sense that I would be having an allergic reaction every time I consumed anything that is a product of grass. Oats, wheat, barley, rice, you name it. Cut that out, I'm cutting the retained water from an allergic reaction, which decreases the inflammation under my skin, in my body, and by default, my lungs. Also decreasing the reaction level of my body (I'm sure there's a word for this, respiratory therapists probably know) Nothing scientific or researched by me at all, just a decrease in the use of my meds during the fall, a time when med use usually picks up.
No more grains!! |

| Im sorry please forgive my lack of knowledge.
I googled this alot with the first post, and I can not find the answer to my question. What is so bad about wheat? Is it Wheat that is bad or the crazy amount of processed food that contains grains thats the problem? |

Well, wheat, and grains in general have several things going for them. Forgive my incomplete explanations, but this is my very basic recap.
1. They are as addictive as opiates, and they override your "I'm full" senses. An appetite stimulant hat once eaten, stays in your system for hours and hours.
2. They get converted to sugar almost instantly when they hit your body, and blow your blood sugar sky high, this contributing to diabetes. Excess sugar in our body gets converted to fat for storage.
3. Many people harbor a slight to extreme allergy, all unknowingly, which causes water retention, illness, and other craziness.
4. The grains of today are not the grains of the past. Genetic breeding, etc.
For a full list, check out the books. I'm a huge researcher and was amazed at the in depth study that has been done on humans and their relationship to wheat and grains through history, as well as a biological explanation of what happens to your body when you eat it. |

This is explained very well in the book "Wheat Belly". Basically grains have been massively genertically modified over the past 50 years. The human body has a hard time digesting this "newly designed" grain. |
