I ran at Casper last year in slack, ground was very hard. Weather was real cold and yucky so I'm sure the ground had froze. I almost died driving to the rodeo it was not a good one for me needless to say!

Casper outdoor? Ran there this summer for the pro rodeo, ground was great. If your a righty your first barrel is on a cement wall, and the rest is pretty wide open. Lots of pens and space to warmup.

I haven't ran in the Swiftel Center for years but when I did the ground wasn't the best. Pretty slick underneath. The last time I ran there my horse went down hard on the first barrel and a few other girls fell as well. But I think they have improved the ground quite a bit since then. It's a tight 13 second pen but the lighting is good. Other than the ground that one year I like that arena. But I like small indoors.

I've never run at the Swiftel because of what you said. I've heard of so many horses going down in there and it doesn't matter if they are hard running 1D type horses or the lower D's - the ground isn't the best.
