I guess the difference is the depth and how you ride. I for example tend to be kinda a lazy rider. The more "snug" a saddle is, the lazier I am. I like the 4" because it allows me to move and makes me ride. The 5" I tend to just sit there because it holds me better.

Most of my friend ride in a 5" but this is my issue. hope it helps a little

Not liking his 5 inch on this Just be natural saddle. Gotta lift my leg up over the damm thing, and it kinda hits me in the back. Would love it to be a 4

This. I'm not a fan of the 5" either. That used to be all I bought, but sometimes I get left behind and if I do, the cantle hits me in the butt and it hurts. 

If you ride balanced, and the saddle is balanced, you don't need that high a cantle.

I agree. I don't like the feeling of a 5" cantle pushing me forward. I feel like I can move around where I need to be at the proper time with a 4.
