Location: NE Texas | HAHA....don't get too excited just yet. Just considering options at this point....and trying to figure out how to get it done. May have to send him to someone to haul for the next couple of months because I just can't get home in time to get to the exhibitions, but I really think he's got the ability and needs to be going weekly right now. |

WrapN3 has some futurities along with their 5-D barrel races that are affordable. She doesn't have her 2015 schedule up yet but here is the link. http://www.wrapn3.com/

I wish there was. I'm trying to plan a schedule too be uses I decided to go from not barrel racing in 10 yrs straight to futurities lol. It's more of a bucket list thing and I probably own the nicest horse I will ever own right now. So it's now or never! Diamonds and dirt is on my list! |

Location: NE Texas | Maybe.....step 1, send colt to "take no prisoners" trainer/jockey for seasoning and hauling, check. Going to start with 30 days and see where we are at. I'm willing to pay nominations if Ricky steps it up. If not, at least i'll have something I can enter come spring. Yay!!!!
Somebody needs to start having some barrel races in NE Texas around Greenville/SS area. Paris even. There used to be all kinds of stuff to go to around here to get a colt seasoned and now there's only 3 pens pretty much that you can go to, and they are only about once or twice a month unless a person can get there the week nights for exhibitions, which I am unable to do. I can get them ready to exhibition with the best of them, but actually getting to the exhibitions has proved to be a challenge!

| It isn't working for me either which is too bad, I tried to open in Chrome and Internet Explorer. It is free and I normally read it each month so it usually works! The list is the most complete of futurity events I have seen. Maybe it is something on their end? |

Location: NE Texas | Awww, you guys are too cool and sure know how to make a girl smile! My good friend total performance, who is also Ricky's auntie and had him in training last year when he was racing, hooked me up with a young man in her area that's a good hand and fearless and goes to 3 or 4 barrel races a week....now THAT is the combination I was looking for! HAHA We are meeting tomorrow night and he's going to get started hauling him. AND....I get to see total performance too!!!!
I'm pretty excited and think that it will be good for my colt to grow up and have someone else on him that doesn't have any emotional connection. He'll be able to ask him to do things and get him hauled like I haven't been able to. I am pretty stoked to go watch him make a run here in about 30 days....the little sucker has more talent in his left front hoof than most....now it's time to ask him to use it!
Thank you again, total performance, as always! You da best, my friend! |

Yeah!!! I am very happy you are making this leap.
I know first hand that it is hard letting someone else take the reins on your baby, but Im praying he is in as good of hands as mine are with you. Now, what color do you want next??? LOL... since you might be bored without Ricky there for entertainment!! BTW, we NEED to go ride with Kaycee, I will even supply a horse for you!! |

Location: NE Texas | It is hard, but it's necessary at this point in Ricky's training to do it. I'm unable to get to the exhibitions and this colt is ready to GO! I'm 100% confident that he will be in great hands and i'm looking forward to seeing him run a set. This young man has all the ability in the world to finish what i've got started, and I fully expect them to be a wicked combination here pretty quickly!
As for color, i'll keep the chestnut one until we can get a deal worked on her and we can go from there (cause you know I love her and want to find someone who will enjoy her as much as I have). This upcoming time change is really going to put a damper on my getting to do much riding. :(
As for Kaycee.....i'm in! We just need to figure out when we wanna go and play. Our schedules aren't messing well! HAHA Ellie would love that and would be so good for her. Jiggy can go too if she's still here and maybe we can even twist my mom's arm and get her to come play as well. |

But beware.....if you swing a leg over her, you will offer alot more than $100 a month for eternity I guarantee you! She's so much fun and gonna finish out to be a really nice barrel horse. Heck, i'm ready to go enter somewhere if they'll ever have a dang barrel race I can get to!
I know. She looks amazing. I need to pick more pecans. |

I'm thinking if it comes from you....she don't care what color it is!! LOL A truer statement has never been spoken. Can you tell i've bragged on your ponies a little, canchasr1??? HAHAHA I want to go ride too....and, I want to ride Jiggy :) Also, I'll pay you $100 a month for the rest of eternity if you let me load her on my trailer when I come home :)
Aww, Thank you !!! Im pretty biased on my ponies but I think they are pretty cool.
Jen, you come on up and ride her. She is even broke to carry a beer cooler. |

Put your granny on her or your kiddo.....or both for that matter! LOL Then take her to the rodeo, the sorting, the roping pen....there just is no way to hook Ms. Jiggy wrong. She is welcome to stay at my house for as loooooooong as she wants to. |

If you find anything would you please let me know. I want to enter my Gatorade in the Diamonds and Dirt. But it will need to be when he is five and I am not sure of the age limit on their futurity. My last surgery was later than I had hoped and then problems with it so I don't want to push him and put him in any if he really isn't ready. Looks like according to the doctor I won't be able to ride until about January. And we know what the weather can be like in January. |

Location: NE Texas | Awwww, thanks guys! He does look like a grown up and like maybe he has his game face on. He better is all I can tell him b/c he's about to get a big reality check where he's at! Recess is over!!! This colt started faster than any horse i've ever started. In 45 days off the track he was loping through really nicely. At 90 days he was cruising through at probably half speed at home , but you better be on your toes with him because while he has all the tools to make a great one.....those tools can sometimes be used for evil instead of good! LOL Well, only once has he really been used them for evil. BLAHAHA Tricky Ricky.....
I do have Ricky to thank for helping me land the opportunity to start several super neat horses on the pattern for canchasr1 after she saw him work, so i'm thankful for him letting me get at least get one good video....little stinker! LOL

I think so too! And he's such a good kid! Won't pick at one. And a good hand to boot! |

Location: NE Texas | Well, wish I had the video I could upload to youtube, but this is just as good. :) The first one is day 4 of Ricky being in college and the second is day 6. Tomorrow he'll have been there one week and he is getting hauled and seasoned and everyday looks better and better! I couldn't be happier with how he's going and know that I made the right choice in Gunnar to finish what I started. Ricky can be a bit....well, Tricky....and Gunnar doesn't pick on him. He just sends him in there and lets him work. I'm a proud mama!
Day 4. The comment he made on this video just made me grin like a fool! http://www.enjoygram.com/m/835113009880859373_263214191
And here is day 6. http://www.enjoygram.com/m/835912489035203422_263214191 |

I am so happy for you my friend, I think you both needed this, Gunnar is pushing him and I think as smart as he is he needed the mental stimulation. I cant wait to see how he progresses. I do see the snap on the backside you were talking about!!! wow |

Location: NE Texas | Thanks ladies! I'm happy to get ANY video so i'm not going to get too upset with the quality! I feel like the crazy cat lady about Ricky.....but he is "weird" (according to Gunnar) and I did send him with an isntruction manual. HAHA I'm just one proud mama and having a blast seeing him get to go make runs! My once a month patty playday schedule wasn't going to get him where he needed to be and he deserves the shot to go to the big shows and now he's getting it! |

Oh yeah...and the Groom!! He does need a helper! There is no way I would take 9 head to a weeknight jackpot..even in my younger days! Whew! Mine too, but then he always has had mine. He's a hard worker for sure. |

Location: NE Texas | Ricky has only been gone a month but it feels like a year! Got a new video last night and boy was I happy. Looked great....even though I hear Ricky morphed into Richard for a moment yesterday, but hey, it's cold outside. Big thumbs up to Gunnar because I wouldn't have crawled on him for a cool million this week with these cold temps! Thanks to total performance for getting this all lined up....Gunnar has done an awesome job hauling and seasoning this colt and getting him ready to compete....I couldn't have hand picked a better match for Ricky and myself....and I think Gunnar might like him just a little too. Pretty excited about this team and can't wait to watch them.....just a few more days and we can start entering!!! YAY!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6SbltaekfA&list=UUXl2eKL4paH2H8ZfJtFJqJw
