Tried something new and I have to share because I wasn't expecting this....
We've had a lot of wet weather and 3 of my horses have been lame pretty much all the last part of summer and it's been pretty frustrating to say the least. Lots of missed riding and lesson time for me and my students. Two are shod, the other is trimmed.
I did a book signing at the local co-op and saw a friend who recommended Hearty Hoof. The guy that makes it just happened to be there as a vender as well. It's a little expensive but I decided to try it.
I had 2 that were head bobbing lame -- was off on the back as well. I put it on their hooved and turned them out that night -- we still had dew and wet grass. The next day they were moving FINE!
It firmed their frogs right up. It's supposed to be for hoof growth, thrush, white line, etc but it does a jam up job on firming the hoof up quickly. I've never had anything work so fast and firm up the frog and the hoof so quick even when they're turned out in wet ground.
