My mare suddenly has swelling in her fetlock no heat and not lame but it worries me. Looks a lot like stocking up but it's never happened before it's a small mare and it doesn't go away with movement. Any ideas?

maybe strained or pulled something. My horse with the ligament issue never had swelling or stocking up that I know of, but he also was wearing a cast for a week or so after the cut/the same time I suspect he strained the ligament.

I have had them swell slightly out of the blue. Maybe banged it on something? I would cold hose and watch and see.

Try hosing it for a while, and then wrapping it in DMSO for awhile.

Maybe some Sore No More poultice or Gel. Do you have PHT or Back on Track. I only have PHT and usually use them whenever I can. Or any other kind of liniment but don't use PHT or BOT with that.
