Location: somewhere in the south | My doctor has asked me to go dairy and gluten free for 12 weeks to clarify some food sensitivity issues! That means close to a paleo diet I guess, right? I'm sitting here trying to figure out what I can eat.................can't figure out anything for breakfast so I guess I'll start thinking about lunch!! HELP!!! |

| Read Wheat Belly!!! It will really help with the Gluten free stuff. I think you're going to be amazed at how much better you feel. Why not try completely grain free, not just gluten? I'm on 7 weeks grain free and LOVING it. Never going back! |

| A few years back my doctors thought I might have Celiacs disease so they wanted me to try a Gluten Free Diet. I also can't eat much dairy...
I suggest Almond Milk instead of regular milk (its amazing). I get vanilla flavored, unsweetened. I even got my fiance drinking it and he loves it so much better then regular milk.
Most grocery stores now also have gluten free sections (both in dry goods and freezer section).
Try eggs, fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, etc. |

Location: East Tennessee but who knows?! | Soy milk and almond milk are good subsitutes. Theres also soy and almond milk yogurt if you can find it. Santia tortilla chips are gluten free. Try cornmeal instead of flour. Nuts- IF you dont have an allergy to them-- if you have sensitivies to gluten and milk ita a good chance you do to nuts as well. I do. Other than that, eggs, meat, and veggies. |

| Also, breakfast is scrambled or fried eggs, bacon, and fruit. :)
A warning: keep your fat intake up, so you don't get hungry. More fat, more protein, more vegetables. Eggs are your friend! Olive oil too! Steak, salad, chicken, nuts, some fruit, potatoes, all meat, really, and as many veggies as you can stuff. If you get hungry, you're not getting enough fats. |

Location: In a happy place | I know SG. and NTO have been doing the Paleo for a while now. They have some good sources to use. My son went Paleo about 2 months ago. He lost 27 lbs. in a month. He had a cheat day after that month and felt so bad he swore he wouldn't do that again. My neighbor went Paleo and did crossfit training and in one month her BMI went from 32 down to 27. I truly believe this is a good program. |

| Poor you!!! You may well starve after all. Aren't there egg replacements available? Thinking so...
So, lots of fruit for breakfast!! Veggies, and meat. How'd you get to be so lucky? |

Location: Idahome | I can't eat eggs and trying to do grain free. For breakfast I usually eat an apple with peanut butter or have an avacado with the corn tortilla chips. It is hard because I am a picky eater, but I have found to really enjoy the apple and peanut butter. |

| We make smoothies for breakfast. Almond milk, spinach, some fruit, pumpkin seeds, flax seed, coconut oil. Pineapple or mango in them is awesome! |

| I catch a lot of flack for it, but for health reasons several years ago, I went vegan, and I haven't had any issues since. Not a PETA loving vegan by any means, but heck I was willing to try anything to feel better and by golly, it worked! My sister is on the paleo diet and loves it as well, so I've learned a lot about it too! You'll find that there are substitutes for just about everything; one thing about it, I got A LOT more creative with my cooking. We do a lot of smoothies for a quick breakfast in the morning, or sometimes I'll do a slice of gluten free toast with avocado slices, hummus and tomato. Lots of fresh fruits for breakfast. I usually have nuts or popcorn handy for a quick snack if I need it. I like to experiment with different kinds of wraps for lunch. Also, like somebody else mentioned, quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is great to have handy. We'll cook a batch at the beginning of the week and just use it as a base for other meals. It really fills you up! Feel free to PM me if you are looking for any specific recipes! Good luck!

| Breakfast - I'd doubt your doctor is considering eggs in the dairy (most do not.) 2 egg whites 1 whole egg, protein powder (i like vanilla), and half a banana all massed up make a great pancake. Gluten free turkey bacon and tomatoes are yummy sides. I throw some chia seeds in there as well. I saw that eggs were included in your dairy...you can use almond milk for the liquid component instead.
Snack- Salad with blueberries and carrots (both are considered carbs)
Lunch- Quinoa as a base "carb" with whatever meat
Snack- protein shake
Dinner- meat and base carb of a sweet potato
Snack- protein shake or healthy chia/hemp seed cereal with almond milk
I use natural raw honey to sweeten things, use protein powders or coconut flour to bake with, and eat raw un salted almonds.

Good to hear you feel better going vegan! No flaming here!!
I wanted to add for the OP that many Vegan substitute products "chicken nuggets " etc are not gluten free friendly! Reading labels is KEY when going gluten free, UNLESS you just stick to whole foods (fruit, veggies etc)
People tend to panic when they hear gluten free and it really isn't terrible! I've been GF for 13 plus years and survived LOL |

Location: somewhere in the south | Thanks so much for all the helpful info!! I've picked up a few things so far and having read so much online that I felt brain fried yesterday! I also found an app for my phone that allows you to scan a barcode and it tells you if it's gluten free......so if you hear a beep in the grocery...............that's me scanning for food!! |

Location: Where I am happiest | My neice has to go dairy and gluten free. I went grocery shopping with her last week and was amazed at just how much is out there. If you have a Fred Meyers by you, try there. They have a whole health food section and you can literally get everything! Milk to mayo right down to crackers, cookies, cake mixes and breads. I was really suprised. There are alot more options now then even 10 years ago. |

Location: Denver, but a Nebraska native -- GO BIG RED!!! | In May I came down with psoriasis. OMG it's a horrible disease. Anyway it is suggested that it can be controlled through diet. No breads (gluten), no sugar (this includes alcohol) (except natural sugar that comes from eating fruit), no dairy, and no nightshade vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplants, or tobacco). Yes that's a lot. It was very difficult at first but I've managed to stick to it fairly well. I've lost 22 lbs in three months and feel SO much better. We really do put so much junk in our bodies. The hard part for me has been the alcohol and has probably effected my results. : ( But I feel so very much healthier and I highly recommend it!

Location: Denver, but a Nebraska native -- GO BIG RED!!! | Oh, and I can only have chicken, turkey, lamb, or fish (no shellfish). I really live on chicken or salmon, and an assortment of cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, zuchinni, asparagus, onions, garlic, etc. Good times right? But it will probably lengthen my life because I'm not putting all the chemicals, sugar, preservatives, etc into my body. I have come to realize that I am certainly gluten sensitive as any time I have any bread I feel like I have little pinpricks all over my body. No if I could just give up the Jack Daniels...

Location: on my horse | Pinterest will be your best friend, gluten and dairy free eating can be dry tasteless and boring but pinterest makes it awesome! I've found so many amazing recipes that helped me out a ton, and I actually enjoy eating gluten free now. Another key thing is to find good gluten free flour. I love premium gold gluten free flax and ancient grains flour from costco, and with it I can make almost anything gluten free. Really watch your salad dressings, etc. because unfortunately most items have gluten in them which is depressing!! I'm going to attach a picture of my flour!
