But I'm old enough to remember we started every day at school with The Pledge of Allegiance facing the flag of America..... It's a darn shame it's against the law now... Quite like Red.. I had a great teacher in the 7th grade... His name was Alexander Clement O'Day... He taught all subjects in a 3 room schoolhouse just outside of Rolla Missouri. He too was a great sage... and he taught us well... He saw this day coming..

In Harrison Co, OH they still say the pledge and it is displayed in may classrooms "One Nation Under God." Live in, will once was until recently, a rural county. My daughter's high school even has an awesome FFA program. Sadly though I see it all disappearing soon with all the gas they have found in the county and we may have to move soon because of a large industrial park going in right on top of us :(

still sayin' it up here in KS too!
In both public and private school we said the pledge every morning ... and in high school it was said over the intercom with a moment of silence before any classes started (back in Washington).
