 "Spaz-tacular"!!
Location: Bennett, CO | Long time BHW friends.. Ive got a bit of news... Brian and I are expecting a baby in April (Yes, a human one) LOL
We have obviously known for a while, and Im not too good at dealing with the hoopla that surrounds this...
So we will be having our first at 40. BTW... Not so cool when you see your medical chart has you listed as an "Edlerly Pregnancy" good gracious, I almost got violent at that one.
We have been married for almost 16 years now, and thought we were confirmed DINK's (Dual Income-No Kids) but I guess God has a different path in mind for us! |

| Congrats!!! I don't listen to the charts. My friend is due in December with her first and she is 41 and no problems. I know several people who had kids later and they got to enjoy the kid instead of trying to be kids, raise kids, and build their life at the same time. |

Location: Okemah,OK | We're in the same boat. Been married 17 years in December and expecting a daughter in February. No other kids and really never planned for any. Decided to give it a few months try just to say we did and BAM, she showed up lol. I'll be 41 in 2 weeks. I hear the words "advanced maternal age" at almost every doc visit. But she's passed all the genetic and neural tube tests so far. Now it's just a matter of my body keeping up with her. But so far so good. We've got another ultrasound Friday and I'm looking forward to her looking more and more like the little baby we will be having soon! Congrats to you and feel free to message me if you need anything from a fellow advanced mom lol. |

I'm 43 with a three month old (my first). The phrase I kept hearing was "Advanced Maternal Age" lol. They worried the heck outta me with that stuff, but everything turned out just fine. We also had the genetic blood test rather than the ambniosynthesis (?sp). I liked that they kept a close eye on everything. I got to go to an ultrasound every month and peek at the little guy moving his little hands and yawning, etc. He has changed my life in ways I never did imagine. I just want to spend every waking moment staring at him. He is such a blessing and I know it was meant to be.
Plus, when I start riding again, I know he will need a new LQ trailer and a pony! I can hardly wait! |

| Congratulations!!! I find myself in the same situation (don't feel bad- I am an "elderly pregnancy" at 35 according to my doctor, too.) WTH? LOL
Also not into the hoopla surrounding pregnancy or the constant "how are you feeling?" (umm...pregnant. How am I supposed to feel?) questions or people trying to touch my stomach (stay back!! I PUNCH PEOPLE!!) but overall the pregnancy has been easy. I am 7 1/2 months along. Also unexpected, and unsure of how I will adjust to parenthood (pregnancy is cutting into my barrel racing time) but I guess, like you, God had other plans.
Good luck with your pregnancy and congrats again! |
