Proverbs 6:1-5My son , if you become surety for your friend, if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, you are snared by the word of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth. So do this, my son , and deliver yourself for you have come into the hand of your friend god and humble yourself; plead with your friend. Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter. 12 A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth
The life of faith has both vertical and a horizontal relationship. Vertically, we have a relationship with God. Horizontally, we have a relationship with other people. Our families, friends, work associates are people with whom we have vital relationships.
The way we treat people is an indication of how we stand with God. We should be diligent in seeing to it that we are right with those around us.
The seven sins in Proverbs 6:1-19 are listed that a person commits against other people. The way we look at others, the way we talk to them, the way we talk about them, the way we treat them should exemplify our walk with God.
