Have you ever taken time to look back over your life to identify experiences that you can explain only by saying the Lord intervened? I have so many ruptured appendix, when running a 870 race coming into the turn other jockey clipped my horse, threw me to off side hanging upside down, was able to get back on and still outrun three horses down the stretch, when I had a blow out on back truck taking off my fender, a truck load of cars had passed me , me pass him, I had blow out, was on side of road over an hour, when I got back the truck with the cars trailer had come off was in middle media, I THANKED Jesus I had blow out., Breast cancer, Identity theft each were for me when the Lord intervened.
Psalm 124:1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side........
The Psalmist took time to list things that could have happened if God wasn't for them. Some were physical. The nations opposed to the Israelites would have destroyed them and taken them prisoners of war. Others were emotional in nature. Circumstances in our lives sometimes can overwhelm us. The author of Psalm 124 used the image of a flood drowning people. But the Lord gives emotional strength when it seems we cannot take anymore. Best of all, our heavenly Father provides all our spiritual needs.
Psalm 125 reminds us of the eternal stability we have in Christ. Earthly kingdoms existed for a period of time, but His kingdom is "from the time forth and forever. v2 Therefore the wicked will not prevail and God's people will triumph.
FOR IT IS WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE
