This is Bert and I'm sure you've seen his little face around before. I adore this horse, he's 7 years old, I adopted him this january and I've got about 6 months on him under saddle. He's athletic, adorable, and my best friend.

Thank you (= I adopted him from the BLM in January, I was out of a horse and he had been catching my eye for months at work and I finally just decided he needed to come home with me. That was the best decision I've ever made! He's my soul horse, I've never had another horse that I've had this kind of connection with, he will literally do anything for me and is such a fun ride. He's got a big motor and a bigger stride especially for a little guy (he's maybe 14.2hh) and he has a big natural stop too. In a year or so when he's really broke I'd like to try him on barrels and breakaway off of him, he's cowy and that stop would be handy.
Thanks for asking about my boy |

Location: Down South | I love my Horse too.!! No pics on my new computer, but here's a link to a video from yesterday.! We have been having a rating issue at the first barrel since he's started running harder. It's gotten better, but we are still working on it. I'm very pleased and love him so much.!

She is 3.5 years old now and has about 60 ish rides on her. Sat all summer and I started her back up about 3 weeks ago. Just a super little horse.

| Here's my boy! Hes my best friend and has definitely been my shoulder to cry on. He helped me learn to love barrel racing again. Hes bred for hunter under saddle but don't tell him. My nieces & nephews ride him, my non-horse family rides him, hes just the perfect horse I've ever owned. I don't know where I'd be without him.

Location: Down South | Went and got some pics off of my FB bcs I like this thread and wanted to share pics.! :) My boy is 10 years old. We bought him at the sale barn when he was a 2 year old. He's very curious and inquisitive. If he can tear it, scratch it, cut it, rip it, well, it's happened to him. I have more $ in him in vet bills than what I paid for him and what his training cost. He's a wonderful horse though. Calm, but can run when needs to. He is a true kids horse and I have turned down a couple 5 digit offers for him. I will never say never... but.... I don't have any intentions of ever selling him... no matter what the price. He's perfect for me.

These two animals right here...well and the man too, LOL!!!
CC on the left. She has taught me so much about really truly getting to know your horse. We finally "clicked" after I spent 9 months hand walking her when she fractured her patella. That time spent with her finally gave me insights into how her brain works that was keeping us from being a team in the barrel pen, I didn't trust her and she certainly didn't trust me before that. Everyone thought I was crazy for spending that much time on a horse that we were not sure would ever be sound enough to be ridden again let alone run but I felt I owed it to her, I was the one that made the mistake that caused the injury. Now when I look in her eye's I see grit and heart and determination and a will that brings me to tears realizing I didn't appreciate that at one time, I saw it as hard headed and non trusting and a little or lot ADHD. When she was attacked by a mountain lion a year and a half ago, she fought thru a fence and 2 gates to get to the house to safety. There is no doubt in my mind she came looking for me. This is why I will try everything in my power to do what I can for her with the kidney stones, she has never quit me, I refuse to quit her. After her stifle injury she not only came back sound, but sound enough to run me across the grass at Pendleton not once but twice. Clean respectable runs, the second year 1 spot out of a check in the 3D and I ran her to the first like we were winning the World in Western Pleasure. I have issues!!!
Tucker, the one on the right is my hero!!! He is the first horse I started from the ground up, he isn't a super star in any one thing but I can put my 84 year dad on him on a Friday to go gather and sort cows with my brother, hop on and head to a cutting/reined cow horse show on Saturday and hit a barrel race on Sunday. During some really hard times with my mom and caretaking for her there were many days the only reason I got out of bed was that horse right there. When you have a horse that does these things for you, no matter how crappy your day or week or year, you find a way to get your butt out of bed face the world and go feed and go to work because no matter what, your day is going to get better when you hop on when you get home from work. He too made my 40+ year dream come true with a beautiful run across the grass at Pendleton and even won us a little $$$ in the 2D.

This is mine, she is 3 and has an old soul. She is so kind and mature, I raised her and broke her myself. Her favorite thing to do is rest her head on my shoulder and sigh, She's one of those rare horses that will make you feel like a trainer because of how smart and willing she is. She came up lame earlier this year and has arthritis in her front foot and overcompensates on her right hind. She will probably never be sound enough to run barrels but is for light riding... I will never part with this horse, she is my baby! |

Location: Down South | I have a new picture of me and my beloved.! Was taken Saturday at a benefit run I produced for a friend battling colon cancer. The day was a success all around. We have a wonderful event photographer in our area who has realy found his niche in the horse event scene in our state. He does excellent work and did this picture for me. What a surprise. I didn't know he was doing it. I love the contrast of the dirt flying against the black background. Check out jefflhoman.com He is awesome.
ETA: yep...I'm all about a hat. With my "bird hair" I look better in hats and caps. Plus it was windy and cold at this outside pen. Still a great day though.!!

Location: North Dakota | This is my baby boy. I've only had him since mid August but feel like I've known him forever. Cash is my once in a lifetime horse. Not only is he my dream horse looks wise, but he's quiet, reliable, and the guy is tough. He actually has sort of a "fan club". I took him to mounted shooting practice and shot off him for the first time in both of our lives. He didn't even flinch. My barn owner mentioned I don't know how many times that if he was just a little bit shorter she'd have to have him! Of course, you could offer me a million dollars and I wouldn't sell him, cause I'd just have to try and find another exactly like him.
