I knew a few gals who run driftwood bred horses, and they have super nice open horses. I wouldn't shy away just because of how "soggy" some of them are built :

A son of White Lightning Ike just won the 1D here in CA this weekend. He's a nice looking up and coming stallion you can look up on FB: Ike's Gold Streak.
I have one by Blue Light Ike (by White Lightning Ike). I have never run him, but he was my nieces good barrel horse. (He's the one I've posted about with possible Cushings). AAA with her as an inexperienced rider in all 13 CGA events, placed at State. He is tough tough tough. I'm 99.9999% sure Driftwood is where Stingray gets her grittiness, I've never had a horse who could take such a bruisin and keep on cruisin. I'd love to have more.

That's exactly what I was going to say!  I own LR Baywood and she sure doesn't lack for speed.  She's in roping events right now, but will run barrels later.  Mary Lee crosses her linebred Driftwood mares on the nicest barrel studs and it's definitely working.

Both our stallions have a heavy dose of Driftwood, love what they are producing. Great minds, quick speed and conformation that will last for the long haul.

I love driftwood horses! Im on a mission to find a Driftwood breed mare to add to my broodmare band, the most i can find is 25% Driftwood blood, so there's only a quarter of the genetic makeup come from driftwood in the horse.

I quite like a horse called "War Train" he looks like he can flat fly IMO, that man has lots of driftwood breed horses i quite like A LOT

I so feel crossed rigjt driftwood could absoultly run barrels competivitly, and if it dosent r opers will buy that right up, i feel it would be a great investment for me personally.

My gelding that I have been running for the past three years is Driftwood on top. He goes back to Orphan Drift and Driftwood Ike. I love him to death and the first year we ran together we qualified for two spots at NBHA worlds. He isn't the fastest horse in the world but he can run a clean automatic pattern and never hit a barrel. He has been retired due to hock issues but I wish I could still run him. I miss the fun we used to have running! If I could find another driftwood horse with his heart I would get them in a second.

I've always really liked the Driftwood lines.  Sometimes I think they can be a little slow to mature, but have good attitudes and seem to hold up very, very well.

We bred our buckskin daughter (who is a daughter of the grulla mare I've posted pics of) and a daughter of Manzanita Te to Slim last year and got a filly this spring.   Orphan Drift and Driftwood Ike are back there a little ways but you can still see the influence I think.  This filly won't have papers, but for a grade horse has a nice set of papers for what she does have including the sire to Brandie Halls NFR area record setter also called Slim, Blazin Te Bar.

Potter Ranch also has other stallions besides Dinero that are heavy on the Driftwood.
Cowans have PC Redwood Ike---son of Lone Drifter and out of a Sun Frost daughter.
They are out there.

Henry Kibler bred and raised a lot of Driftwood's.  He is the breeder of War Train who stands in Oklahoma for $850.  I've never seen him in person, but he looks like a really cool horse.  Henry also raised the mare Driftwood Kate that my fillies are out of.

The filly LR Catch This Streak is by Streakin Again and out of a daughter of Lone Drifter who is out of a daughter of Cowboy Drift.  I've been told that she is available. I love the Easy Six/Driftwood cross.

Ike's Gold Streak is standing to the public in CA.

Does any one know or can you look up to see if Blue Light Ike is still alive? That's my horse's sire. I find myself wishing he was a mare but realized I could still breed to his sire and get a half sibling of he's still around.

This is our CS Flint Drifter Stud, he has Driftwood breeding on the top & bottom. He really had some big shoes to fill when he took his sire place, but he has done a fantastic job. He is very fast and athletic but the thing we like best about is he is very level headed whether you are in the arena or the pasture. Driftwood horses are very sensitive to pressure, they are very smart & they learn very quickly. These all good traits but because of these good traits they can also be ruined very quickly in the wrong hands.
They are very watchy and know everything that goes on around them

This is my gelding, he'll be 4 this winter. He's got a touch of Driftwood, although he is unregisterable. It's amazing, how much of these descriptions agree with his personality, even though the Driftwood is a bit far back (through Orphan Drift) for me to generally give credit to. He is sensitive, and smart, and wants to be ridden/messed with/etc much more than I am able to.
