He was growing like a weed as a weanling and had some sore joints for a long time. I kicked him out to pasture with my old man for all of winter and most of the summer. I brought him in around the end of August and he sure did sprout up. I think he looks pretty nice for a yearling, especially on just pasture forage. Pictured at 1 year 2 months old and 14hh.
Don't mind how he's standing. I don't have anyone to hold him and he was super interested in the grass growing by his feet so he kept trying to eat. lol.
He was growing to fast and his lower joints got real big and sore. I can't remember the diagnosis the vet told me. He did not want to move around and just kept to himself. Per the vets orders....turn him out to pasture so he has to move and NO GRAIN or alfalfa. He went straight to to the pasture and got grass hay for extra. He came back in this summer and looks pretty good. He's definitely moving a lot better and have some high hopes for him as a barrel racer someday. lol.
