Would a working type stallion like Hes A Pepto Playgun,, when crossed on running bred mare make a good barrel horse he throws grays and roans. The mare I was thinking about breeding to this stallion is Malenas Dash, she had a half brother Tiki, Mr Gold stone that sold for good money back in 08 as a 1d,2d, barrel horse.

Personally, I love when horses are crossed like that. I feel you get the best of both worlds. :)

I personally prefer all running blood. Straight from the track kind of horses, although I am ridng and breeding to a son of FG. I think the cross you mentioned would be just fine, there are a ton of people that do prefer that run/cow cross.

I am selling a running bred appendix mare for a friend of a friend. She is in foal and has a foal on her side by Lena Red Pep. He's a very versitle stallion, points and big money won in several events. I think he has crossed well on the appendix mare.
