Location: Alabama		I am curious to know if anybody on here has ever heard of this homemade drawing salve. A friend of mines grandfather used it on his racehorses back in the day. It is made from a mixture of turpentine, baking soda and lard.

Location: Alabama		lol yeah. she swears by this stuff. Her family calls it "Pawpaws Salve" I finally asked her what exactly was in it and that was the list she gave me. She wont give up the recipe tho. I had to ask what the lard was for and she said its basically there just to make it creamy.

I know several people that swear by bacon grease for all sorts of things on horses, cattle, sheep, etc ...
