Location: Louisiana | I need suggestions guys and gals! We are getting married in May, so places that are pretty that time of year. I'd also like to avoid anywhere HS seniors flock to after graduation.
I am really open to anything. Fiance gets bored so somewhere with plenty of fun things to do. I'd love to go somewhere different and special. Not neseccarily beachy, we have nice beaches within 4-5 hours so we've been several times before- I know a resort is different but I'm thinking a different locale.
No cruises. Not doing it lol.

Location: North Dakota | Taos/Santa Fe, New Mexico is unbelievable. Hubby and I stayed at a bed and breakfast, for a long weekend, in Taos, to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and it was awesome. The scenery, food, shopping was all really cool. |

| We went to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. Rented an amazing cabin, it was awesome! I know it's really touristy, but there were tons of things to do plus we were able to hang out in our cabin and watch movies when we just wanted to relax. |

We have been to Pigeon Forge before and that is an option we've thought about. Especially if we decide we don't want to fly. It isn't too bad of a drive. Plus there are quite a few things we didn't do the first time around so it would still be a new experience. |

Beaver lake was going to be my suggestion! It's a very pretty area and lots to do. Eureka springs is my next choice.
We've also been to Las vegas. It was a great time. We researched low price eats and happy hours and for 5 nights, round trip air fare and all the extras and money we spent it was less than 2000 for the entire trip.

We stayed here: http://dreambb.com/rooms-and-rates/ (Dreamcatcher B&B) in the Pueblo room. It was under different ownership back then, but I'm sure it would still be fabulous. It is tucked away, very quiet, and you can walk to a neat little "square" with fun shops and such. |

Since you are from the South, it's a great time to visit a northern state though since its prettier in that season. I would travel someplace it might be harder to see at that time of year, maybe Alaska, Oregon, or Montana. |

Otherwise is you're into going further, I took a trip to california and LOVED it all or Portland/Seattle and loved that too. There is SO much to do there and it's beautiful. Very romanitc places as well. I LOVED seattle, want to go back. |

My husband I went for the last two weeks of May. Got married on 5/19 and got to Anchorage on 5/21. Weather was high 50s/low 60s. A big change when you're used to high 90s!
It. Was. Amazing.
We had a rental and drove to B&Bs across the area. Such a beautiful state and so many wonderful outdoor activities! We did a lot of hiking (even on a glacier), 4 wheeler rides (not that we can't do that here, but the scenery was gorgeous), kayaking, etc. We plan on going back before we start a family.

| All of the above options sound awesome! Alaska would be awesome for something completely different. And if you are open to beaches - I think the shores of Hawaii are nothing like any beaches on US mainland soil. :) Congrats!! |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Sorry I didn't read everything, but the Black Hills of SD are amazing! There is so much to do that it would literally take all summer. Caves, Bear Country USA, Reptile Gardens, Beautiful trails and forests, Custer State park and some really neat cabins to rent, or you could get a fancy hotel in Rapid City. |

This is where we went. Turks and Caicos has to be the most beautiful place in the Carribean. We stayed at the Royal West Indies resort. I would highly recommend it. Another resort we stopped for dinner and would recommend is The Somerset.
If you want to go really exotic and can afford the flight is Bali, Indonesia. I had the chance to visit Bali while I was in Singapore for work. Bali just has this laid back vibe/atmosphere/aura that I can't even describe. I hope to get to take my husband there one day.
Phuket, Thailand is also breathtaking. I can't even put these places into words. |
