If money was no object and you could build any barn you wanted, what would be your ideal setup? Any pictures of barns you've seen in magazines or online that really stuck out to you? What are some amenities you just couldn't live without in a barn? Just for fun :)

My #1 is a huge indoor and my #2 is HEAT. I would die to have either of those things.
Actual improvements I'd do to a new barn, more windows, leveled and matted stall floors, more lights, auto waterers,
extra wide aisles, more outlets, concrete down the center...
honestly I love my barn just fine and the only thing I really want is a big indoor with heat. Is that so much to ask?

Is it bad that I enjoy cleaning my "barn" and horse trailer more than my own house??

Look on pinterest.... I could be amazed for days!!  In my dreams I would have a circular swimming pool going around a huge round pen.

My barn is as unfancy as you can get but I love it and would not change anything.  I have 4 15 x 15 stalls that each open into a 35x 50 run, 40 x 40 over hang at one end, 15 x 10 hay room (have a hugh hay barn for rest of hay), 15x10 feed room and opposite that is a 20 x 15 storage room for tack, fans, blankets, etc- all the junk we accumulate.  Having room and a place for everything makes it work for me, big stalls and runs keeps my horses comfortable.

Ooohhh, I was ruined at about 4 years old.  We lived in a neighboring town to Gladstone, NJ, home of Hamilton Farm, HQ for the US Equestrian Team.  My mom took me there for lessons and we got to the tour the barn.  It is forever stamped in my memory and will always be my dream barn (sigh).

That would be it!!!!! I was there as it was being built. We stood Rachel Alexandra's sire, Medaglia D'Oro. The stained glass above the stallion barn is him.

Oh gosh....

Indoor arena with watering system, thirteen 12x12 stalls in one barn, with Ten 14x14 stalls in another, both with therapeutic flooring and automatic waterers. Wash rack with heated water. Tack room large enough for no double stacking (biggest pet peeve in my barn. haha). A 6 horse panel walker and an exercise pool both inside! Extra wide aisles, with a fly spray system and heating/air conditioning (for the horses of course). An apartment above the stables to live in (my absolute dream house right there). Plus a side building for the truck and 4 horse living quarters trailer to go in.

So yes....I would love my barn. haha

Besides what has been said I want to be able to drive my truck and trailer inside the barn (like along the end, not in the center aisle) to load and unload all my horses and tack and keep it stored out of the elements.
I want the stall fronts that are like mesh all the way down so you can see all of them and cameras so I can check on them from the house or my phone...I'm kind of a worrier.
I want a fully stocked vet area with a stocks on one side and a hose and drain.
A washer and dryer in the barn would be a dream come true as well!

If money were no object, I certainly would want to make one as tornado proof, hurricane proof, earthquake proof, and fireproof as possible.

brilliance! Wouldn't that just be the greatest, no matter what the weather conditions being able to go to sleep at night or to work in the morning and know that your horses were totally fine!

Thanks a bunch for the compliment Herbie and clearly my barn is so very equal to the others posted.  <----snark
I love my barn/covered arena but it in no way is fancy. I saw a barn on TV the other day that was drool worthy but I can not, for the life of me, remember where it was but it was a drop dead gorgeous estate.

My dream barn would be attached to the house with a breeze way in between that we could pull the truck and trailer through.  It would have large lots off of the stalls and the tornado proof would be awesome.

The realistic dream barn would be one with doors on both the front and rearside of each stall with an overhang outside. When the weather is nice I love to groom in the crossties outside. I also like the access from both sides. I believe its referred to as a "race horse barn." I would also love a nice office, separate from the tack room. I would like dark mahogany stalls and HEAT. Would love to have a nice big indoor attached but that's more of my unrealistic dream.

Ill see if I can attach a few pictures ive found.
