| I looked at a barrel prospect last night and really liked him. But he is HUGE and his height somewhat startles me, concerns me. I live in Minnesota and a lot of the races are in small indoors. I have a gelding I have measured that is 16.1h. This horse seemed like he was that tall or taller. The lady selling was unsure of his exact height and I had nothing with to measure.
He's an 8 year old quarter horse that was retired in July. Won some $112K.
I'll attach a picture of his pedigree. Do you think there is a certain height that is just too tall for barrel racing or that it hinders them in anyway?
