My 9-year-old 80 lbs catahoula is struggling with joint pain in his shoulders. I'm pretty confident it is arthritis. I've been looking at Dasuquin w/ MSM or Cetyl M - any suggestions of which route to go? They both seem expensive so I want to make sure I go with something that will really help.

My 9yr old 90lb Rottweiler has had over 10 surgeries collectively on all four of her legs. Needless to say, she has some residual arthritis. We've had great luck with CetylM, although our black and tan coonhound didn't do well with it because of the shellfish in it and his allergies. We switched about a year ago to Platinum CJ because it contained the CetylM along with some other key ingredients and have had great results with it as well. I'd highly recommend either.

I have a pit bull terrier that was a rescue she is about 13 yrs old now, I got her when she was about 5...as she got older she started having problems in her rear end. When she would get up from sleeping or laying down she could not get going, and times when she was so lame she would carry her left back leg, so i took her to the vet. He told me she had degenerative joint disease and there was nothing he could do. This was when she was about 9 yrs old. I came home and ordered cetyl-m and tried that for a month and saw NO CHANGE. So i then odered something called Nuvi-flex for dogs, It was her life saver!!! Within a week She was running and playing and going on trail rides with me again. I order it from Valleyvet.com product number is 40350.

No experience with those two but I use Cosequin right now. I also give my 11 yr old German Shepherd/Heeler mix a salmon oil supplement on top of her food and I purchased a magnetic bed for her after an accident a couple of years ago. She gets around like a puppy:-) I have also used Nutri Vet Hip & Joint Level 3 with success with her. I could get it at Petco or PetSmart.
