| I have a paint gelding that is Sun Frost and Fire Water Flit....LOVE HIM! A calm, hard-running and confident horse. He's just a little on the "wants to take control" side but is easy to bring back down. |

^^^^^THIS!!!
LOVE my SUNFROST mare! Unfortunately, she is only a broodie now since she had a fence injury to her tendon. But her first foal is exactly the same build and personality!!! I imagine she will be the same pleasure to ride and train as her dam was!!! |

| Love, LOVE, LOVE my Sunfrost Granddaughter!!! I have to say she has spoiled me! Nothing I get on compares to her. She still has her marrish ways sometimes but other than that she is a HONEST, consistent, smart, and willing mare! I wouldn’t trade her for anything! |

Location: Idahome | I have a Sun Frost/Driftwood gelding and he will do anything you ask of him. He is all business though, doesn't like to mess around too much. Wants to do his job and be done and he takes it seriously. He can be a little "watchy" but is great to ride and be around. Not really a lover, but tolerates it. |

| I have a Sun Frost granddaughter and absolutely love her, more heart and try than any horse I have been on and can flat fly. They are very intelligent horses and you can't pick a fight with them because they can get stubborn but I love mine and would take a whole barn full of them! |

Location: California | I owned one. Best minded horse I have ever seen. He was gritty, no maintenance, and had so much heart and try. I now own a stud that is a grandson of Sun Frost. Half brother to the horse I am referring to. He too is the calmest and best minded horse. |

Location: Red Raiderland | I will know soon enough as I have a PC Frosty BID baby at the trainer right now. The trainer says he is his favorite to ride out of all 8 or so horses he has to ride daily. He says he is so willing and just wants to please. Now, I don't know if he is just saying those nice things since I pay him. |

Location: Oklahoma | I have to agree with Mightybroke and Whiteboy... I blame Mightybroke for my addiction... and Whiteboy for getting a stud I will breed to mine... they are tough, agile, wanting to please, gritty, bone substance, mind, athletic ability, family friendly... eye appealing... I have 2 mares... very heavily line bred Sun Frost and Driftwood.... LOVE THEM...they are night and day too. One is watchy and the other is in your pocket.

Location: Kansas | the gelding I own......is GS of Sunfrost.....He's obviously smart, built to last and a good looking sucker.....but he's out of a running bred mare. So he's quick, and unfortunately kinda crazy due to a bad feedlot experience. |

  Roan Wonder
Location: SW MO | We have raised Sun Frost horses for years & crossed them on many different types of mares. The traits of Sun Frost stay true through several generations. They are super smart and learn really quick. ( but remember horses can learn bad thing just as well as good things so be careful what you teach them) They are very very sensitive to pressure. Very athletic and quick. Most of them are a little shy it may take them a few days to warm up to you. The one thing about a Sun Frost horse is you need to be careful who handles them rough handling can very easy blow one up. |

The willingness to please with this horse is out of this world! Don't have to teach him anything, he already seems to know it (or so he thinks he does! lol). Like many others have said they are quick and crazy athletic. Excited to see what the future holds for him.
Thanks for starting this post, its great to see such positive comments about Sun Frost breeding. Reaffirms that we are going down the right path with our breeding program.

That's my favorite term for the sun frost bred horses ... RAD. You should see the mare :) She's real easy on the eyes too :) I'm not sure Whiteboy is ever getting her back Well, when you're done with her, she can lay over in Oklahoma for a while! Sorry, I'm stealing her from Whiteboy for myself.....real sorry, but I gotta do what I gotta do. No way, I want my lil el scorcho!! You could send her up here and we could "hide" her for you - he will never find her in Canada!! lol
We'll just keep shipping her around year after year... He'll never know where she's at! |

Oh, you thinking that you had just bought a high priced grade stallion and mare was payment enough for me lol. I was definitely trying to figure out a backup plan on how to market a grade stallion. I figured I'd make it one of those memorable craigs list ads, hopefully get some media hype out of it. Like a big sombrero, a naked person, and lots of fireworks!
hehehehehe...I made a white boy from Utah sweat! Sweet :) |

Location: OH | TwistedK--I accept full responsiblility for steering you in the Sun frost direction and also for nudging Whiteboy that way also, you both will find that it was the best move you ever made. Let me explain--I have been dealing with horses my entire life. Nothing was so frustrating aas starting a young one and finally getting them ready to run and them coming up sore or finding that their mind could not handle the pressure once you asked them for that little extra. About 17 years ago I started wondering what this Sun Frost thing was all about, was it just a fad because of Bozo or was this the real deal. The more I dug the more I liked---in the early 2000's we made a decision to base our breeding program around Sun Frost and Driftwood and adding our little outside blood into the mix. The results have been great. We are still in the early stages of out long term plans, but could not be any more pleased with the results plus the feedback we get from customers. A long the way we have gained lifelong friends in the Cowans, an added bonus---these are some really great people that kind of took us under their wing and really guided us well. Nothing thrills them more than seeing us succeed.

Location: siberia it seems | Ok, so I had a wonderful mare that I ran for years, but she was actually by Tiger Frost. Tiger Frost was also by Docs Jack Frost, but out of a mare called Flutewood who herself was by Orphan Drift. My mare was Miss Foxy Tiger and she was a true blessing to me. She was strong boned, big hearted, honest as the day is long and so reliable it was unbelievable. Due to wierd circumstances, I only have one baby out of her. This is a palomino yearling filly by Guys Piece of the Pie, who is by Sun Frost. Her name is BR Believe and I can already tell she has many of her mommas qualities and I am thankful. I also have a two year old gelding, French Sparks Flying, who is by a son of Smoke N Sparks and out of a daughter of Frenchmans guy, so he is also a grandson of Sunfrost. He is a tad watchy on the ground about people, he was this way when I purchased him as a yearling, but is improving all the time. I have 63 rides on him now and I am really starting to like him. He is feely and can really move around, and is not very spooky at all when i am on his back. I am starting to have high hopes for him. He is 15 hands right now and is very good boned and solid built. He has an elegant neck and head and will be a looker. I agree that you need to treat these horses fair and ask them right and you will really have something that will last a long time. I am sold on them! |

| I despise them. It depends on the kind of horses you like and your term of "broke." The ones I have are gentle and good minded in some ways, but usually somewhat broncy and they do HATE to get broke in bridle. Numb mouth and numb side. They are big boned and they are pretty. Of course this is my conclusion from only two, they may be the rule or the exception to the rule....... I would own another but I won't say they're my favorite

Kind of a contradictory statement---I hate them, but yet you would own another???? There are a few lines I am not fond of and there will never be another on my place.LOL. Honestly though, this is what makes horses so great. What works for one person may not for another. |

That's funny because the ones we have had are just the opposite to that. They don't even know how to buck when they out in the pasture playing they dance around but don't buck. We have had 3 studs that were grandson and all out of really different bred mares, they all acted pretty much the same way. They are all super light & pass that one to their foal, very responsive to pressure & light sided |

I've never had a broncy one. Watchful, yes, but broncy???? I have 2 very linebred Sun Frost/Driftwood Ike mares and a coming 2 year old I bought from Crossspur. My mares are night and day. One is in your pocket, wants to follow you around almost to the point of annoying. The other mare is very watchy and thus wears a leather halter at all times. I can catch her, but every time I do it's like a refresher course. She's a big (15.3) sorrel with 4 knee high socks...pretty as can be, but boy does she test my paitence. Now, my Cross Spur coming 2 year old... she's pushing 15 hands already and she's a phenominal filly. VERY smart, and a pleasure to be around. She'll let me do anything to her and handles it like she's done it before. I can't wait to get up on her. |
