So I am wondering what size blankets you all use for the average size quarter horse. I ordered the hubs a couple for christmas. I used the sizing chart that stated horses between 14'2 and 15'2 normally wear a size 70 -72. I am worried that may be a little small. These wont be for one particular horse as he will use them for multiple.

I think they may be on the small size. I just order new stable sheets and I ordered 76's and 78's. My 2 yr old is in a 76 and it fits her perfect. She's about 15 hands tall.

If it were to be used for one specific horse I would just measure. He trains for a living and keeps multiple outside horses so it would need to be used for many individuals. I could order a couple of different sizes so that hopefully it will work for most.

my 15.3 HH gelding wore an 84 saxxon comfortably, I actually would have liked to have a little bit bigger one for him because he was a big stout guy that wore a size 2 shoe, my 14.2 hh stocky mustang gelding wears a 74 ozark and a 68 trail tough and they both fit perfectly. My mom's 15.1hh gelding wears a 76 in almost all brands. I think it just depends on your individual horse and the brand of blanket.
My 15.3 running bred gelding wears an 81 in the Kensington Platinum blankets. They fit so perfectly that they look like they were made especially for him.
Different blanket companies use different measuring methods. One will have you measure from center of chest around to the edge of the tail. Another company has you measure center chest then around the widest point of the shoulder and hip to the center of the tail. Look up online how the manufacturer wants a horse measured for their brand of blanket.
