After years of use, my 5 Star pad is awfully crusty on the bottom. Does anyone know of a good way to make it look a little better? I thought about trying to hose it off but I'm sure it'd stay wet forever.

There was a video on FB about cleaning a 5Star made by a dealer. He used a rubber curry comb type brush to get off as much of the hair as possible. Tying the pad up by wither area to hang down he sprayed with water hose, then sprayed it with a horse shampoo, let it soak 10? minutes, then sprayed with water til the water ran clean. He only sprayed it on the side to the horse if I'm not mistaken.
