| My 28 year old niece is in ICU as I type this, doctors are trying to bust a blood clot in her liver. She was admitted to the hospital 2 days ago, had several days of abdominal pain, was diagnosed with clotting in liver and spleen. Thought she was doing better but clot is worse and they don't know if she will make it. She is in Amarillo, her dr has called liver specialists all over the country and apparently there is no set protocol for treatment. Only or best option is to try snd bust up the clot, risk is she could bleed out and would happen so fast nothing they could do. I am 10 hours away, flying out first thing in the AM. Drs think clot was caused from an antibiotic shot she recieved for a respiratory infection. My sister lost her other daughter to a brain tumor 3 years ago and was just finding some joy in life with the precious girls my niece is fostering to adopt. I can't imagine not only losing my niece but also these girls. |

We pray, God, your loving mercy would be extended to this family in the form of a complete and whole healing of her body. We pray for the knowledge and skill of the doctors to be anointed by YOU. We pray, Father, that you would give both she, her parents and entire family comfort in knowing that YOU are the great physician, a healer of both mind and body. We pray from the bottom of our hearts that you would hear our plea and grant this petition to heal rodeomom3's niece of this blood clot and return her home to her family in good health. We pray the protective blood of Jesus over her and ask that faith in the power of prayer be given to all involved in this situation. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

| In the room with her. She is I feeling better but still don't know where we are with the clot. The Amarillo hospital did not do the scheduled cat scan in the morning, she was composing of pain so finally did one in the afternoon to find clot was much worse. After 4 hours waiting for a doctor decision was made to move her. A whole team of the best doctors are working on her case now. My sisters Heartbreaking to watch her sweet husband by her bed side. |

One positive thing is the liver is the only organ that can heal itself, so WHEN she makes it through this critical part, the liver will heal itself and she shouldn't have any long term effects. |

| This is just crazy. It is extremely rare for a young healthy individual to have a blood clot in the liver and spleen. Waiting on a CT scan to see if TPA's are working. Blood is being blocked from returning to the intestines. If the TPA's dont work, there is a procedure to go in thru liver and remove as much of clot as possible. Her platelets are at 15K, can't figure out why they are so low, usually with clotting platelets are high. Want them to be at 60K before they do any invasive procedure. |

| Taking her back at noon to do procedure to try and remove clot. Very high risk because of low platlets and TBA drugs. Going to put stint in vein but concerned it could clot. |

| She has been back in surgery for 6 hours, just got word it went great - have about an hour to go. One more step of administering TPA through stint directly to remaining clot, risk of bleeding out continues but platlets have been going up so risk is diminished.

This hospital saved her life, the one in Amarillo was not equipped or experienced enough to do this procedure-said it was not an option. If you have a crisis do whatever you have to to find the best who can help.
More fabulous news to share. Niece is fostering 2 year old, CPS is recommending reunification even though mom has not completed all requirements, is pregant with 3rd child by 3rd dad, living with Him. We were told bio dads rights had been severed, found this was not true. My sister tracked him down and he called today and is signing over his parental rights to my nice and her husband giving them legal standing to fight for custody.

| Took her back to go in again and see if stint is in right place and any changes in clot. Hoping it is not another 5 or 6 hours. Once off the TPA's she should be out of the woods and no longer at risk of bleeding out. She was on a ventilator last night and is alert. She was trying to sign (we did not know she knew sign language :0) and we all were googling to figure out she was saying -throat hurting from tube. Good news she is alert and processing and still smarter then all of us :). Looking at 2 more weeks in the hospital.
