Anyone have a black skinned horse trailer? Do they get hot? I'm located in the Midwest where it gets pretty humid in the summer. I'm looking a new to me one and the black looks sharp but not sure how functional it is.

I have a friend who has had two of them and they were no hotter than any other trailer . She was a sundowner dealer so got to be in all of them. I have plans to build a trailer and it is black as well.

I have a Black Lincoln and it is hotter than my white truck. believe when I say it is hot. If you go that route be sure you have a lot of ventilation. It should function like any other trailer as far as function goes it's just going to be bit warmer in the can.

I recently purchased a black skinned trailer (not black on the top), and I made sure to go to the dealership during the middle of the day on a warm day to see if it was any hotter. I did not feel any difference at all between the white and black trailers. It does make a HUGE difference if they make the top of it black or not. Mine has drop down windows on the head side and bus windows on the back, and I do not believe my horses are any hotter than they were in my old white steel trailer.
